The delay is blamed on “an entire additional cycle of design and editing to ensure that the books were as close to perfect as humanly possible” introduced with this new edition of the game. While this effort is touted as a boon for the quality of the Player’s Handbook and Monster Manual, which are releasing on schedule, it has pushed the production schedule back on the Dungeon Master’s Guide. For stores participating in WotC’s early release program, the book with have an on sale date of November 28th, with general release following on December 9th.

The Burning Wheel, in conjunction with Mouse Guard graphic novel creator David Petersen, will release Mouse Guard: Swords & Strongholds, a two-player strategy board game based in the world of the popular all-ages series, according to hobby channel news website ICv2.com.
The game was conceived by Petersen for use as a unique pastime for his Mouse Guard graphic novel characters, and Petersen partnered with game designer Luke Crane (creator of The Burning Wheel RPG and the Origins Award Winning Mouse Guard RPG) to adapt the game for the real world. The two-person light strategy game is intended as a simple to learn but engaging pastime in which players move mouse pawns across a gridded wooden board while playing sword, stronghold and diplomacy cards.
The box will include a wooden board, eight plastic mouse pawns, 30 cards, and a rules sheet. The game is for 2 players, and takes 10 – 20 minutes to play.
The game is currently seeking funding on Kickstarter for January 2015 fulfillment, and has raised over $28,000 from more than 683 backers as of this writing. The campaign features two retailer pledge levels.
