Dragons of Tarkir (DTK) will be released on Friday, March 27th and we will have a full line-up of events for you to crack packs, build decks and play Magic at both of our stores! The weekend will kick off with our flagship Sealed Deck-style event, but with a Fat Pack!
The Battleground Games & Hobbies Dragons of Tarkir Fat Pack Challenge is taking place THIS coming Friday night at both locations (run as our FNM). These are the ultimate sealed events – where you open packs, build a deck and play with just the contents of a Dragons of Tarkir Fat Pack!
The concept of a Fat Pack Challenge is pretty simple. Each player will receive an Dragons of Tarkir Fat Pack with which to build a 40-card deck. Players may use ONLY what is inside of their Fat Pack to construct their decks. 23

Alderac Entertainment Group will release Game of Crowns in June, according to hobby news website ICv2.com.
The game is designed by Remo Conzadori, with art by Pascal Quidault. Players control one of the nine noble houses of the Ruelen Empire, and with the ruler’s death, they are each attempting to gain enough control and influence to claim the crown. Players can exchange cards and favors through diplomacy, or attack opponents through warfare to gain what they need.
The box contains 90 House cards, 18 Vote cards, 11 Guest cards, 37 Raven tokens, 9 Reference cards, and a round track. The game is for 4-9 players, ages 14 and up, and plays in 45 minutes. MSRP is $29.99, which is a great price point.
Does this sound familiar? If it does, perhaps that’s because it seems awfully similar in concept to Game of Thrones. Even a similar name.
What do you think of Game of Crowns? Let us know in the comments below or sound of on Facebook or Twitter! If you’d like to see this game on our shelves, contact us here!

Playroom Entertainment will release a new deluxe edition of Unspeakable Words, with new artwork by John Kovalic, this summer, according to hobby industry news website ICv2.
The Call of Cthulhu word game, designed by James Ernest and Mike Selinker, with artwork by Tony Steele won Games Magazine‘s 2007 Word Game of the Year and appeared on the second season of TableTop.
Players compete to form words from the letter cards in their hand, where each letter is worth points based on the angles of the letter. The goal is to make the highest scoring word possible, but the player must test the strength of the word against a roll of a d20. If the roll is equal to or higher than the value of the word, the player is safe. If it is lower, the player loses a piece of sanity, represented by Cthulhu pawns. The first player to reach 100 points (without losing all their sanity) wins.
Originally intended for 2-6 players, the Deluxe Edition will support up to eight players. The edition includes a host of extra items, including a glow-in-the-dark custom d20 engraved with Cthulhu, a screen printed dice/pawn bag; plus 10 of the 40 Cthulhu pawns (in 8 colors) will be glow-in-the dark.
In addition to the Deluxe Edition, Playroom will be reprinting the classic edition ofUnspeakable Words for the 6th time. That edition includes 30 single-colored pawns, and is suitable for up to six players. Classic and deluxe editions can be combined to host up to 14 players.
