This format has recently been getting pretty popular in New England. My wife Stephanie and I were in the store the other day playing a few games and a couple people expressed interest in playing.
Here's the official website for the format:
http://www.dragonhighlander.net/rules.phpThe format is really fun and is a great common ground for casual and serious players as the format encourages splashy spells and has interesting deck constraints. I've never had as much fun playing Magic. Add in Planechase and things get even better. Even scouring for cards on Gatherer was a blast.
So, the website has everything one would need to get started in the format. However, designing for a highlander format is a little difficult coming from how Magic is typically played. If anyone has any questions, I'd be more than happy to help them however I could. Additionally, MTGSalvation and The Mana Drain both have decent EDH forums. The Mana Drain forums are frequented by folks who play Vintage regularly and their experiences in that format color how they approach this format. They are much more interested in turning a deck into a well oiled machine (competitive or not) while MTGSalvation takes a much more casual approach. I prefer TMD, though it has less traffic.
This thread is also a great place to organize some games! So, if you have an EDH deck, post your name and what you have so we can all find some new opponents.
