Changing the X-Wing Schedule?

Please vote to see results.

The tournaments seem to attract more people than the "free play" nights.  Also, the interest in X-Wing has been INSANE lately... It's a shame I can't get any models...

Anyhow I'm thinking it might be a good idea to change over to weekly tournaments on Thursday nights starting in January.  Maybe something like 100, 125, 100, 150... or 100, 100, 100, 150.

I'm open to suggestions.  What do you think?

How about 100-150-100-200

Happy the way it is.
Don't mind more tourneys, but it could come at expense to Newbies who may not be ready to be competitive. Also want to make sure there are opportunities for epic games.

I think that the combination of Tourney nights as well as the "Other Night" is a good one. When Thursday Nights began picking up steam, there were some alternating events/structured play nights that filled out the schedule such as:

- Epic Level play
- Trench Run - or similar events.
- Free Play

I am ultimately happy with anything that gets decided, but I would be sad to see opportunities for Epic Play to dwindle, and the Free play nights allow for an easier Demo/Intro environment for new players.

I would ideally like to see a Monthly schedule like this:

4x Thursday Month

Week 1 - 100 pt. tourney
Week 2 - Epic Game
Week 3 - 100 pt. tourney
Week 4 - Free Play/Other Event/Mission Play/Alternating Points Cost Tourney (example 125 or 150 point squadrons)

This adds a bit of structure and something for folks to show up to and gear up for.

Be the positive change you want to see.

I like that schedule, Brian.  I think it's a good idea.

One more thing to talk to Sam about going forward.  :)

My opinion does not count for a lot right now since I cannot play right now.  I would rather not have a tourney every week.  I like doing the random stuff every once in a while.

The massive, epic 7 man 800 total point match last Thursday was awesome!  What we can/should do depends on the players that show up. Current format is good, like Brian said, it would be nice to have some stucture on the off weeks like missions/campaigns.  Something I was thinking of is teaming up on a side.  Say 300 pts, 150 a side on a more regular basis.  2v2 or 1v2, but that can be done at any time.  Experienced player should take newer ones under their wing, or should I say X-Wing.
