Thank you for posting the results, Sam!

I was running one of my regular squadrons tonight:

================================
PTL Soontir And 2x Bounty Hunter
================================

100 points

Pilots
------

Soontir Fel (34)
TIE Interceptor (27)
Push the Limit (3)
Shield Upgrade (4)

Bounty Hunter (33)

Bounty Hunter (33)
================================

A mixed bag of results tonight, two victories and a loss. My loss was to Rob, and he crushed me with his excellently flown and played Phantom list. I had a combination of poor flying and poor target selection in this game.

The Firesprays continue to be a solid choice and Soontir is simply the most fun you can have flying a ship in this game right now.

Congratulations to Paul and Rob on a great set of games!
Be the positive change you want to see.

Can't believe I won tonight. I had some really tough competition, John and Steve played really well, but my final match against Robert was a knock-out drag-out fight.

More on that later. First, here is my list. I put it together quickly the night before. I figured it was solid, but I didn't think I could go 3-0 with it.

I ran my favorite comb, Soontir Fel and Push the Limit (30 points), Coarnor Jax (26 points) and Rexler Brath with Heavy Laser Cannon (44 points).

It was my first time running a TIE Defender and Carnor Jax. I love the Interceptors, though. They're fragile, but SO maneuverable.

In the final I was pretty nervous. I'd never been 2-0 before in a tournament. I made the mistake of lining up my Defender alone against Rob's mini TIE swarm and my Interceptors were on the other side of the board.

I should have lined up Jax with the Brath, because on I think it was the second round, I was able to take out one of his Academy Pilots with Fel, but Robert pecked away at the Defender with his TIE Fighters and then gave it the coupe de grace with the Advanced Proton Torpedoes on his TIE Bomber.

After that, I had to pick away at his remaining ships while trying to keep out of as many firing arcs as possible while still being able to shoot at his squad.

The game came down to my Soontir Fel with two hull left and Robert's TIE Bomber with two or three hull left. I think my maneuverability and a few key dice rolls going my way gave me the win ... but only just.

It has to be the hardest X-Wing game I've played in quite some time.

My opponents really made me earn this victory, so I think that makes it even more satisfying.

I hope that doesn't sound too smug. :D

Thanks everybody. I hope to see you all next week.

Last night was

Echo Tie Phantom [34]
-Advanced Cloaking Device [4]

Howlrunner Tie Fighter [18]
-Swarm Tactics [2]

Academy Pilot Tie Fighter [12]

Academy Pilot Tie Fighter [12]

Scimitar Squadron Pilot Tie Bomber [21]
-Advanced Proton Torpedoes [6]

Good games all around.  Paul definitely earned the win last night.  Great flying on his part.

Going to miss playing it over the fall semester.  Next Thursday is the last one I can play at until the fall semester is over.  Some of us are going to have to hook up on the weekends because I really want to play Imperial Bumper Cars with the Decimator.

I disagree on that.  Echo is by far the most fun.  She is very tricky to use, but sooooo fast/maneuverable.
