ive been considering playing warhammer for a while and the only thing i have to ask is if theres a warhammer rpg at battlegrounds currently, if so when and what do i need to join in? If not, what is the average cost for a (warband?) thats good enough to compete with. Im not looking for the most broken army just something to play casual without spending a ton or getting slaughtered. Let me know if anyone can help me out

Warhammer Fantasy RPG is the role playing game, and while Battleground has the books there currently is no game being run to my knowledge.
Warhammer Fantasy, the tabletop wargame which this board is usually used to talk about, is played very often. Like it's counterpart 40k, to get a good starting force costs a couple hundred dollars. Not bad considering how much you get out of it.
While Warhammer Fantasy uses small armies, a warband is the name for a small group of warriors in certain games from GW's Specialist Games line. The usual warband game in the Fantasy universe is Mordheim, in which there is currently a small league running. This costs about $50 to buy the warband you will use, however the cost can differ greatly.
