Apparently, BL let some people download the codex early, so information is flooding out.

Not liking a lot of what I am seeing.  No more mob rule, just the green mob table talked about in WD...basically a way to sneak fearless wounds back into the boys.  BWs have gone up 20pt, Deffrollas get AP4 but only d3 hits (do not know if they get an armour bump, doubt it...but 110pts for a basically arm 12 open topped transport kinda sucks).  Lootas are HS now (woohoo, there was nothing good to take in HS anyway...*sigh*) and have apparently gone down 5 pts (base unit).  There was word that Tankbustas and Burnas (word on burnas is +5pts (base unit)...wtf?) went up some points.

Hopefully it is all a lie....or there is some good stuff in the book to mitigate some of this (I mean seriously...why are ANY orks going UP in cost?)

Apparently some guys at Warseer got the codex early.
Should the miserable Grot crews survive for long they will soon become deafened and have to resort to a rudimentary system of sign language. This is rarely successful as there are only so many signs a Grot can carry around with him.

The new chart isn't to bad its essentially fearless with taking some wounds. There is a perk in not being fearless now, you can actually go to ground now with the mobz. This is actually better for model's under 10, like meganobz, loota's, etc... when they fail a leadership check now they have a chance to stay put.

Wow...just wow.  I am so glad I did not buy any of the new kits.  If these new rules are true, Orks must have been crushing everyone they played with how hard they got hit with the Nurf bat.  Shoota boyz UP a point, Kanz up 25% and can panic when kanz are killed.  The huge nurf to trukks does not bother me, but if I used them I would be pissed.  Oh, and KFF only working for the vehicle instead of bubbling like they used to.

Orks, the only army that gets an update where all their units go UP in points.

I have not seen anything out of the new rules that has made me go "cool, that is awesome"...everything has been "really, I mean really...."

The codex isn't out yet, but maybe shoota boyz have heavy armour and kanz are armour 12, etc.

Stormboyz are cheaper and can use their jump packs to move 2d6 in the assault phase. Bikes got cheaper too. Weird boyz can generate more warp charges if they are close to units of ten or more. Nobs are supposedly cheaper and pain boyz can go with any unit. So far its a pretty mixed bag . There's good stuff and not as good stuff but and people can't seem to agree if there's a detachment that lets you WAAGHH! every turn. Where did you see that shoota boyz went up in points?

stormboyz also take a dangerous terrain test, so you loose a chunk of boyz for just playing (common theme here).  Weird boyz also have to take a test to not be wounded from those extra boyz.  Shootaboyz and everything else I know is from that warseer thread.  oh yeah, new LOW Gazzy losing to 4th ed Gazzy in a fight.

At first blush, it looks like the boyz got the crap kicked out of them with the nerf bat (good thing too since they were so overpowered).  Trying to reserve judgement until I see a real codex, but...it is hard.  The old codex looks a mile better than this one (and the old codex was not all that great...fun, but not really good).

6/7th ed pretty much got me to stop playing 40k for the most part.  This new stuff might have me pack up 40k and concentrate on Star Wars and Warmachine until the Ork Codex is revamped again (in 2-8 years)

Safe money is on that it's a lot better than your impressions makes it seem, Rob.

That is what I am hoping.  Pessimistic right now, but I have not personally seen the codex.

It's never as bad as it seems, you just need to consider the context of the game. I heard, for example, that tankbustas and burned can take dedicated trucks now, for one thing.

The formation sounds instesting. Being able to waagh every turn after the first especially with mechanized orks.

http://natfka.blogspot.com/2014/06/where-is-warboss-grukk-leaks-hold.html?m=1

Looks like the Ork release is stretching into July with the Ghazgull book and supposedly a new Warboss model. White Dwarf is also supposed to be about Warboss Grukk and the Red WAAAGH!!!

Deff Dread Mob isn't new, it's just 2 Deff Dread in one box.

Deff Rolla Battle Wagon is a "special order only" item that's just got a Battle Wagon + the Deff Rolla add on sprue.

Seems like they're going to do a codex supplement for at least a few of the popular "WAAGHs" or Warbosses.

Yep and it looks like there's going to be some formations in it too.

http://grotorderly.blogspot.com/2014/06/white-dwarf-22-wycieki-czesc-2-leaks.html#more

The Vulcha Skwad is the name of Zagstrukks stormboyz squad. The blitz brigade looks like a multiple battlewagon formation similar to the Battlewagon Steamrolla squad formation from Apocalypse.

So it appears this supplement will be more substantial than say Ianden and Farsight IE 8 pages of rules and 50 pages of fluff and pictures. If written well this could add a lot more options for the Orks plug any potential holes in the new book (which honestly doesn't seem as bad as people are making it out to be. Kustom Force Field on a bike is now a thing.) I might have to pick up a copy depending on what the early reviews say.
