I think the Mortis and a pair of the crusaders would make a damn cool Knight House army...I am assuming the rest of the ad mech list for the knight houses will just consist of regular (IG) soldiers like the fluff (peasants without a lot of heavy weapons).

Too bad there is not an option we know of yet that will allow for 2 ccw.  Jason, you could model up a bunch of hammer and sickle knights...

Lol nice idea! I'll have to just settle for them being painted up as soviets to match my IG

This is kind of a cool release.  Still wish they would have updated everyone to 6th before spooling out the new stuff.

Mechanicum was my favorite of the HH novels and I loved the 2 Knights that were in that book.  I will definitely make up a Knight House, providing the rules are not utter crap.  Just got to get a peak at the new codex before deciding.

What's interesting is that FW already has a mechanicus line and FW is supposedly available for ordering from GW stores in march or april...  first gw codex with a fw only army? hmmmm

Yes, we have seen that, but the 40k radio talked about 3 different armies, Knight House, Ad Mec, and Mercs.

I am assuming there are other units to fill out the points besides just the Knights.  I know in the fluff, Knight houses have small peasant forces that support the Knights, kind of like a PDF without alot of the heavy support. Ad Mec has all sorts of neat stuff that could be with it.  And heck, Mercs can be anything.

Yeah, but it is only some of the oddball stuff in the Legio Cybernetica or whatever.  They still have not done the baseline skiitarri and preatoria (which I think is how you spell the names....my latin sucks).

So, they're an army in their own right with just Knights?  Do they all count as troops then?  This needs more info to make sense.

Maybe it's like how the inqusition are their own army? If I can get my hands on an Armorcast Reaver, I would definitely pick some of these up to round out a cool looking 3k IG army.

If people are interested, it looks like my distributors have a couple (literally a couple) of the different DreamForge "Leviathan" style / class titans left in stock.

Just throwing that out there.

Edit:  Chances the GW version is cheaper if you're planning to get just 1 extra arm... Super high.

The scale on the Dreamforge ones is going to be a bit off when compared to the GW ones.  25mm DF Leviathan is 8.5in tall (Ork Stompa Size) while the 15mm DF Leviathan is about 4.5in tall.  From the WD leaks, it looks like it is around the size of that Tyranid beastie, somewhere on the order of 5.5-6.5in tall.

I am thinking of using a 15mm scale one and putting it on a base to boost it up a bit.  Even though the 15mm one doesn't have the extra arms on sale yet, or the mortis version.

Chase, do your distributors have the 15mm one?  How much are they if you can get them?

If the Ork Codex does a stompa Mob, I going to buy a couple of big ones and orky them up.

They have ten of the 15mm versions across two warehouses.  They're $59.00.

You think a 4.5 inch model is right for a Knight Titan?  That says "Dreadnought" to me...  Boosting it up says "Dreadnought on a hill" to me.  /shrug.

A Riptide is 6-7 inches tall.
The Wraithknight is almost 9 inches tall.

I don't know if a 4.5 inch model is right for a Knight, still not sure how big a real Knight model is, from the pictures some people are estimating 6ish inch).  You could make up a 1.5in with a little converting and creative basing.

4.5 is more likely what a Dreadnight/MekaDread is.  A Dreadnaught is something like 2.5-3in (they are smaller than the 3 inch battlefoam that i have them in).

I really like the Dreamforge aesthetic, but it is looking like the Knight is going to fall in between the two sizes they make.  Which is a shame.  Still thinking about picking up 1-2 to make some MekaDreads, but....

Still very interested in making a Knight House army, but it is really going to come down to the cost of the knights.  At wraithknight prices, 3 of them would hurt but be doable.  At Lord of skull prices....well for me that isn't happening.

That's cool Chase that BG has access to dreamforge stock. Wave 3 which has the weapons arms for the 15mm ones and the Mortis 15mm will hopefully be shipping in the next month or two.

Personally I'm using the 28 mm leviathans as knight titans, bigger is better and it's not like it would of been easy to get a cover save anyway lol
