Well i know GW sold a lot of Wraithknights at $115 a pop, and on the other side of the coin i doubt they sold many lord of skulls or tesseract arks at $160. So doing that math and carrying the three...

i'm guessing its right about in the middle, as from the rules it's pretty clear they want these to be in normal games and everyone to buy two of them

Well be sure to let me know as soon as you know if you guys want one (or more).

I'll likely have zero info when I'm asked to put in my order...

If it is a super heavy walker, that is Lord of War slot, so only 1 per army.  I am sure the price will be baneblade levels...

Unless the rumored Knight dex allows more than 1 to be taken, then I would bet closer to the wraithknight.

Of course, this is GW...they just throw darts when setting price.  I am sure they hit the square that says $100 + throw again.

370 and 375 points as confirmed by pics.

Also confirmed by pics is you can have 3 in an allied detachment or 6 in a primary detachment

I think they look more like warmachine colossals than a 40k model. I swear the blue one is a Cygnar model on a GW base and the red one could pass for Khador if it wasn't for the head.

This actually shows one of the biggest differences between PP and GW.

PP adds colossals to the game and you can use 1-2 of them (unless you are a crazy dwarf player) and for the most part, a colossal or a pair of heavy's are pretty much equivalent.

GW wants to add colossals to their game, so they do it in a way to add 3-6 expensive models...and lets not talk about balancing rules.

They do look pretty cool and I wish it was practical to play with multiples of them at the 28mm scale.  It is too bad that they never made a larger scale (or smaller scale depending on how you want to look at it) game at the 6mm scale where using all these large models would be really practical.....

At 2000 points you can get 5 of these...assuming the Knight legions ignore the HQ+Troops thing (which I would not be surprised to see, kind of like the imperial armored spearhead).

GW is really confusing me with all these super large scale releases.  Seems like they do not know what game they are making models for anymore.  Is it a small scale tactical war game...is it a super walker skirmish game?  Mixing the two together does not make a ton of sense since the latter pretty much invalidates the former (and really super heavies pretty much make troops useless).  What is really confusing is the rules (and I am not talking about things like there is no balance at all, point cost between codexes are not even remotely equivalent, spooling out new codexes while armies are are still operating out of a dex that is 2 editions out of date).  Wraithknight, Riptide are not that much different than a dreadnaught, but the former are MC and the later is a Walker.  And then the Knight is a walker, when it is pretty close to the riptide.  Doesn't make a lot of sense, should be all some kind of walker.

40k Radio upcoming codex release schedule:

March: Imperial Knights
April: Milita Auxilia
May: 7th ed 40k
June: Orks

Good thing I do not have high blood pressure given the amount of salt that should come with these...

40k Radio "predicted" the entire Space Marine and Dark Elf books with 100% accuracy. They were also the only ones that said Tyranids were in January when everyone else said December. The Imperial Knight rumors started with THEM. Given those odds, I'm confident enough and willing to personally make a bet with you.. $100 store credit that this schedule is true.

Jason,

How big are those Dreamforge Titans that you got from the kickstarter?  Are they going to be of comparable size to these knights?

I think the reason they didn't sell many Lords of Skulls or Tesseract Vaults might be due to people not wanting to see them in standard games of 40k. I bet they'd at least sell more Vaults if people were using Escalation in everything, not sure about the Lord of Skulls but it seems like you could build some solid armylists with that model too.

Jason,

How big are those Dreamforge Titans that you got from the kickstarter?  Are they going to be of comparable size to these knights?

Unclear, need some better pictures or better yet measurements on one of these new titans.

Dreamforge comes in 2 varieties. 15 mm which is around the size of a dread knight and the 28 mm version is a little shorter than a warhound titan.

The GW knight titan appears to be on a oval MC base and looks to be shorter and fatter than a wraithknight

I plan on making my knight titans out of my dreamforge kits (just because I've got 3 of them kicking around from that kickstarter) and they look REALLY close to this new GW titan... maybe dreamforge games should sue GW! lol

that being said anyone who wants to run a knight titan you're probably better off getting the GW version assuming the price is 150 or under.

A dreamforge titan is 100 but you'd need to buy the Grendel cannon and a nova cannon and possibly the chain arm at 28 a pop to meet wysiwyg requirements of the knight titans battle cannon or melta cannon and D weapon.

It shocks me to say this but the GW kit is likely a cheaper option as it comes with all options to make both variants ( again assuming the damn thing is under 150)

Pre order now from your friendly neighborhood Chase!

wouldn't you just need 1 nova cannon since the kit comes with a sword (there is your D weapon) and an assault cannon looking thing (which looks like a bad ass battle cannon)?

I actually prefer the look of the Dreamforge ones to the GW ones (not saying the GW ones look bad, just personal preference).

Assuming rules to Ad Mech come out, I could see myself picking up a couple of these (probably DF instead of GW).  Do not look forward to painting them though...painting the Judicator was a pain enough.

Did not realize they made a dread night sized one....that would make a pretty nifty Ork MekaDread.

I'd agree the swords would work as a close combat weapon (there's three varieties + a claw)

The gun it comes with however is pretty clearly a small caliber minigun and not a large bore battle cannon, I think the Grendel cannon fits the wysiwyg bill on that one

I just saw another picture of one of the GW knight titan next to the tall Tyranid MC (forgot its name). The angle was a little unclear but it doesn't appear to be too much taller than that.

gonna unbox and get to work on one of these dreamforge leviathan this week.
