Alright, it looks like we have some interest! Great! I too think something like this would be fun. And don't forget, if we do something like this, we can always adjust the rules if they over looked any issues when they designed them. Anyone see any thing?
I actually think VC and TK would be great under these rules (as said there is no crumble, and I urge folks to read the GW *.pdf, not my very brief summary) as fear is pretty powerful with no generals on the table...
Mostly though, I was enjoying the variability you can achieve in game play, if you just made a few fun story driven scenarios. I was also wondering how this type of game would work in a multiplayer format. Maybe the last scenario is a wild-free-for-all!
Some scenarios I could imagine similar to Mordheim, getting a treasure off your table edge, or collecting something for VPs, bounty hunting (either a bad ass NPC or perhaps each player picks an enemy "dog of war" in advance of the game), etc.
One of my favorite Mordheim scenarios was "Don't wake the giant," where an actual giant started in the middle of the table, guarding a treasure chest... black powder use within like 24" would wake him up, as would a few other things... good fun.
And the conversion possibilities! Pick a cool model and build a fun little list around him or her, good hobbyist fun. I could see many bitz trades as people build a ten model force for an army they always wanted to try...
Anyway, we should try and make this happen, maybe in like April or May or so. Plenty of time to write some scenarios and people to build little warbands. Chase, Keith, and Jake, you are in charge. I am more of an "idea" guy.
