the rectangle bases are for fantasy.
"are for?" as in looks better with the other square bases? Sure. As in "what meant to use?" I'm trying to make clear that you were actually "meant to" use the rectangular bases, those were used in 40k for bikes and cavalry (IG desert guys). The rounded bike bases are less than 5 years old, I think.
or you could just buy a new, bigger base and glue the smaller base on it and look, all set.
ive dont it with my old school, snap on 360 turning terminators. If you still worried about it being just a tad bit taller, you could just cut a hole in the bigger base and put the smaller base in
this seems like a great option to those who have a model they dont want to rebase.
ive already done this with the new centurians, put them on a 40mm resin base that matches the rest of my army and glued the new 50mm underneath to be legal.
I dont know how many times this has happened in the past but I know I've never seen a terminator on a 25 mm base. I mean what is out there right now that changed? The eldar wraith guard and avatar? Tau broadsides?
chase has made his ruling, its a simple fix and nobody wants to be "that guy" at a tournament
Look, I am "that guy". I just want Chase to admit he's declaring a house rule, and make clear to everyone else who may not be familiar with the larger 40k community that NO, this is not how it is done elsewhere, there is an ACTUAL rule that says you can use the old bases, and yes everyone else accepts it. I have no idea why Chase is making such a big deal about this particular rule, it's uncontroversial everywhere else.
WHat are you talking about with Centurions? They're brand new, they've only ever had one base size.
The terminators that came on 25 mm bases are very old now, and kinda ugly besides, so no, you probably wouldn't ever see them.
Models I can think of that have changed bases (mostly combined with dramatically changed model sizes) are: Terminators, The Avatar, Wraith Lord, Wraith Guard, greater demons, necron wraiths, broadsides, and I think obliterators.
I am sure you have seen one of those models, seen them used in tournaments. I know I saw old broadsides and old wraith guard at NOVA, on the old bases.
