Why is every tourney always in Plainsville?

Terrain.

Also space.  Plainville can accommodate more warhammer players AND still maintain playspace for other customers, Abington cannot.

Is space an issue anymore with the new Abington location?  They had an awful lot of teams there for last team tournament, it seemed like at least 40 people

Let's get this back on track, guys.  We can discuss terrain/space/Abington/Plainville/Amounts of Tournaments in another thread;  we should leave this one open for actual discussion about this specific tourney.

Plainville can fit more tables with more room (without things getting awkward) than Abington can.

Also, Derek likes to pack things in a little tighter than I'm comfortable with.

The terrain thing is covered in a couple of other threads right now.  Abington has 30+ of brand new, gorgeous, 40k buildings and ruins.  They're awesome.  Day to day, week to week 40k games should have zero problem whatsoever finding terrain in Abington.  Getting 15 tables together without caravanning to Plainville and back is a bit tougher, that's all.

It's exciting that there is such a lively discussion about this stuff.  The warhammer community is growing.

I'm thinking of heading on up from NYC on the weekend of the 5th to MA and just heard about the tourney that's getting put together! Would love to bring up a 1000pt detachment of Tau if anyone here is still looking for a partner. Normally I play with the Warmongers down in NYC, and I'm sure I'll be seeing many of you at Battle for Salvation, Mechanicon, or possibly Da Boyz (if I can get some of the mongers interested in making a trek up to the frozen north!)

I run a fairly competitive Tau lineup so I'd be looking for a partner with a similarly competitive lineup but I wouldn't be picky at all about which race I'm paired up with. It's all for fun anyway :)

Give me a shout if interested!

Will be seeing them tomorrow and will ask if either want to make the trek up :) Unfortunately I have a stopover the night before and I doubt either of them want to help me babysit my college friend's new baby lol

Spoon, I should know tomorrow night if I have anyone else coming with from NYC. If not, are you still looking for a partner?
