The Battleground Abington Community Escalation League is a 8 week event that will take players from 12 points to 50 while they rack up points for community participation, victories on the battlefield and painting! This league is run by and for the Warmachine/Hordes community to get new and veteran players meeting new people and growing their armies!
When: The first week of the league officially kicks off on Monday, August 26th and will last 8 weeks.
Where: Battleground Games and Hobbies
1423 Bedford Street, Abington MA 02351 (781.261.9669)
Entry fee: $5. 100% of entry fees will go to prizes!
League Summary- Each player will choose a faction they will play for the duration of the league when they sign up.
- League games will begin at 12 points and increase every two weeks.
- Unlike the Journeyman leagues, you may change every aspect of your list in between games! Play as many different warcasters as you want!
- Playing games against other league players isn't the only way to score points! Get more points for painting, showing up to painting nights on Mondays, and for helping the community out by aiding in scenery construction on terrain days!
ScoringUpon entry, each player will get a score sheet that will be kept in a binder behind the counter. After each game or when you finish painting a model, fill it out using this handy table! The player with the highest total at the end of the league will be our champion!
League Rules- You may play as many games per week as you like, but you must play someone else before playing a player again.
- A player may only claim painting points for models that are usable in their league faction.
- Each painting category can be scored a maximum of 3 times.
- Games may be played using any scenario you and your opponent agree on: book, Steamroller, or just assassination!
PrizesPrizes will scale with attendance. Winners will receive store credit good for anything from the
Warmachine/Hordes stock ONLY. We want to see our champion keep investing in the game and community!
ScheduleImportant Days: Every Monday during the league is a painting night. Basically, a bunch of dudes get together and paint. If you haven't been to any of the ones at old BG, you can expect a lot of fun. You have people cracking jokes, talking tactics, and swapping painting techniques. Also, there's nothing like peer pressure to keep you on track with painting goals! Additionally, though games can be played whenever you like, Thursdays are the easiest day to walk in and get a game.
This is pretty basic, but I figured I'd put it here for future use and for anyone who wants specifics. Its important to note that I do not have a terrain day scheduled yet. Since it requires a fair amount of time and effort, its something to coordinate after sign ups. Check here for future details!

That's about everything I can immediately think to cover. We had a lot of people sort of bummed about how short the last Privateer Press league was coupled with an influx of new faces. I'm really excited to see everyone jump into their factions, get to know new players, and get involved!
If anyone has any questions, Rich Bourque (the_trooper) and I are running this thing. Feel free to shoot either of us a PM or post here.
