OK, so, you've given 2 examples of things that stack, and 2 examples of things that don't stack.  The stackiness of each is known because GW published FAQ's that said whether they stacked or not.  GW has not published such an FAQ about the Fiends' ability, so somebody should (and they have).

Anyway.  The actual ruling we arrive at on Fiends is not the main issue... I was bringing it up merely as an example of my larger wish, which is that for the couple hundred cases LIKE this where different people have arrived at different conclusions about the rules (and played large tournaments with those different conclusions even), it's nice to have an FAQ that tells everyone what the "Battlegrounds way" is.

The examples I gave that stack were part of a specific exemption.  THe default seems to be that things DO NOT stack.  I believe, though I am frankly too lazy to find it, that that default is actually stated somewhere in the main rulebook.

Reinforced aegis and psychotroke grenades were explicitly clarified in the GK faq:

Q: Are the effects of multiple models’ Aegis or Reinforced Aegis
cumulative? (p35)
A: No.

Q: Is a unit that assaults, or is assaulted by, multiple units with rad
or psychotroke grenades subjected to the effects multiple times? (p60-
61)
A: No

Yes?  Some things that are clarified in a FAQ are actually pretty obvious from reading the rules.

I think it's possible for something to seem obvious to one person and not to another.   I suspect that GW probably got a lot of questions about the stacking, and that's why they added these items to the FAQ.

I think it's still technically in "draft" form.  Finalized comes out tomorrow, I think?

I know one section had directly contradicted the GW FAQ on blasts and allocating wounds, but the was the only place I could point to it being incontrovertibly wrong.  On the contentious stuff, obviously no matter which way you go, some people will disagree with you.

With all this talk about FAQs and rule interpretations, I've had a questions I've found no answer for, so here it is.

In every mention of a missile launcher in the Dark Angels codex, it is an option that includes frag and krak missiles with an additional option to purchase flakk missiles at 10 more points, except for one instance, the dreadnought. In the case of the dreadnought, it's options include replacing the close combat weapon with a missile launcher but no mention of any included missiles or option to include flakk missiles.

This leads me to believe that the missile launcher includes no missiles, but that would be ridiculous, so it must instead include all three missiles for there is no mention of a missile that is not included in the upgrade. Any other thoughts or a FAQ out there somewhere that answers this quandary?

I asked this question myself when the codex first hit. Basically in the wargear and armory page it refers you to the missile launcher stats in the big rule book which doesn't have FLAKK options.

Basically if it doesnt say you can buy the FLAKK upgrade, you can't buy it

OR - we could use this one.

It's for the ETC

http://www.houserulz.org/doc/ETC_2013_Clarifications_v1.1.pdf

Honestly I don't care which one, I just want a place to look to know how stuff is going to work, and a way to fast forward the process of arguing and rules interaction discovery.

Wow, this one is amazingly specific e.g.

"True Measure of Distances - Measuring
distances must sometimes be done in 3 dimensions,
especially in the case of models placed in terrain
sporting several levels, or vehicles hulls which have
vertical parts. Measure the distance from base and
hull to base and hull, holding your tape measure at
an angle as necessary. When measuring so, any
part of the body of a based model is also taken into
account. For ‘body’ we mean a model's head, torso,
legs and arms, but not overly outstretched or
oversized parts of the models like wings, tails,
weapons, backpacks, banners, etc. This rule is
intended to ensure that models don’t get penalized
or advantaged for having impressive standards,
blades, guns, majestic wings, etc.
2.6 True Measure of Distances"

This is something I see different people playing differently all the time.  When measuring a distance, some people only take into account the horizontal (shortest way).  Others measure straight-line as described here (medium way).  Others measure across, then up (longest way).  Obviously makes a big difference in a game which one you do.

Maybe it's a pipe dream that people will start playing the same way... but a man can dream.

OMG... they also answer the "base size" question definitively too... they list which models can be on which size bases.   Me likey.  OK, I'll shut up again now... for a while...

.... and one more.

The ETC ruled that Multi-Trackers CAN'T be used for overwatch.  So I guess I'm not totally crazy/alone in interpreting it that way.
