I was wondering if there were going to be any 1v1 tournaments in the near future. I also heard talk of a League starting that was going to take place with planet strike an you would start at 500 points in the first game an work your way up to a mega battle any truth or reality of this happening.
Currently we do not have any 40k 1v1 tournaments scheduled.
We are likely to start a league towards the end of the summer. Currently I've heard rumors around the store of a 40k version of Warhammer's "Might Empires" rule set. We had some success with our map-based campaign this past winter using the Mighty Empire rules and have spoken about adapting them to 40k. Hopefully this rumored product will do that for us.
I have also heard a bit about the new Planet Strike rule set that I am lead to believe is also coming out towards the end of the summer? What those rules are for escapes me right now.
Any way you slice it, you can expect a 40k league sometime in the foreseeable future. It may or may not be an "escalation" league but regardless I doubt it will start at 500 points. I'd expect something closer to 1500.
Keep in mind that BG is also likely to run through this Lucky 13's campaign that GW has just started. Details on that still need to be worked out by us and the community. Feedback on the matter would help.
