Also, I heard a vicious rumor that Ben Boulanger lives in Stoughton now (closer to AB than PV).  Too bad he works all the time.
The vicious rumor is true. But AB is closer, really? I'll have to look at a map.

And it is too bad I work all the time. Although with the rate I'm gaining experience, I might just be able to run a fourth BG. "Oh you've been here just over a year? Well, how do you feel about running the company?" Hmm.

Ha, no I meant ordering a GW flying upon which to put a suitably scratch built model.  Just an empty base would be strange and disturbing... Unless it had a suitably seated Wonder Woman model... It would then be SUPER strange and disturbing.

The caveat allows Space Wolves to use Storm Ravens in Wing armies only for purposes of Dog Fighting and Strafing Run scenarios. The same is true for Sisters of Battle, who may use any 40k approved Imperial Navy unit in their Wing armies. Now to further clarify, Space Wolves may not use Storm Ravens in any game, only in Wing armies. Think of this conceptually as the Space Wolves are closer and are getting backup from the fastest moving units from other allied chapters who couldn't be there in full force.


Well, time to buy a Storm Raven or two. and edit my starting list to actually include points for a wing army...

i Just realized that i have no wing units at all! so i did the math and it would cost me $300 just to be at 500 points, so you can count me out for this one. sorry!   :'(

For the flier part are allies acceptable?  Like Brad stated not all armies have access to flyers and not all people have access to FW.  Best way for a SW to get a flyer is allies...

Storm raven + plasticard + bits = storm eagle.

EDIT:

I just noticed, nothing in the initial post specifically prevents allies. The full rules aren't out until tomorrow. Is the idea to not allow allies at all?

Sorry Nate! I misunderstood you. Yes GW sells flying bases, in fact I'm pretty sure I saw one in Abington last I was there.

No worries Noah, I understand how you feel. Have you looked at the possibility of scratch building some 40k approved fliers? It might be a great way to build up points and use models you wouldn't look at normally. Also if you know anyone that has the same army they may be willing to lend you the models for the campaign. Lastly, technically fliers are not required (though they are recommended) for the campaign. There is more than one player who have built no wing armies for their starting empire but are relying on AA Gun buildings to thin out wings that try to enter their territory.

Yes, there are no detachments, allied or otherwise allowed in Storms and Shadows. The idea is that all the races are clamoring to be the first to get deep into the system so alliances break down quickly.

yeah i just signed up my ultramarines and i got a quick question to ask. We start with a free generator, but can we build a second one with starting points?

I may pick up a flyer or 2 over the course of this campain but as it stands i want to bank the points so when i have the models, i can cash in on points stored up for wings

Hi Tom! Glad to have you on board. Point wise, yes you could afford another generator. However generators have the restriction of not being able to be within two tiles of another friendly generator, so your starting empire isn't large enough to support a second. However if you plan your empire intelligently you should be able to build a second generator after capturing only a few tiles.

Saving up points isn't a problem, you can build your bank as time goes on. You should be aware that other players may not be so cautious however so you might be at a point disadvantage on the table. Out of curiosity Tom what planet did you sign up on?

I love campaigns, this one sounds particularly well designed so I will try to sign up this week. I assume the entire ruleset will be available sometime today? Also the 500 point Wing army is independant from the rest of the army, correct?

Hopefully I can secure a foothold planetside beforehand, but The Liche King and his daemonic minions are not shy about making planetfall either..

Great to have you on board! Lots of reasons for Daemons to be in this system. Also, I appreciate the compliment, always greaet to hear feedback. Yes, in fact you'll have multiple armies on the campaign map. So depending on the planet you could have 2 standard armies and 2 wing armies flying around. And yes all are independent of one another.

There actually is no official league night. As with the Blood in the Badlands campaign (for those familiar with it) there is a single day of the week where everyones moves get enacted at once and new games are generated. Then it's up to the players to organize and play their games before the following tuesday. Games that are not handled in this way go through what we call "Auto resolve" where things are decided by die roll. But if you're looking for a night of the week where things will happen for the campaign then Tuesday is probably the best day to put down for that.

Afraid I have to agree with Chase here. You'll have to try and be flexible with your opponent for the best time to set up a game. Remember though that because the turns are tallied on a tuesday that gives you all weekend to try and set up a game.
