Is this the new system we are going to use for 40k tournaments? Or was this just a one time thing??

I'm not sure.  Derek and I both feel like this is a much better system than the one we have used in the past.

Chase,

I'd say stick w/ this. It breaks it up nice and easy to follow and count up.

As a guy that well, came in second, I will go ahead and say probably not.

What did it favor?  It favored aggressive play and mobility.  It also favored people playing to the missions and balancing the objectives with killing your opponents.

The IG players that ranked were all (except for Rick guy, I mean come on!) very good players.

I have to agree with this. Playing to the mission was Key, and Ryan and I fell down there, when we did not always focus on all of the missions enough, That is fairly reflected in our scores.

Be nice Rick and Mike played well to pull out the win.  :)

"Be Nice.."

I forgot we were all at pre-school using nice words like please and thank you.  No one pick on anyone because it might hurt feelings.  Screw that! Recess Rules, the gloves are off and your momma jokes for the win.

Chase,

What was Allan Knowles's and Ashly Seto's theme?

To be honest, I had almost nothing to do with the theme scoring.  Derek went around during round 2 and scored everyone.  It was very close.  I simply gave my opinions on what I felt "Best Theme" should mean in terms of just looking at a table / army comps.

As far as I know, Allan and Ashly were both using Chaos Deamons.  I didn't get much of a chance to see their armies deployed due to the nature of how they enter the game.  They had a very nice looking write up (that I didn't read) to go along with it.  Personally I liked the Ultra Marine + Ultra Marine army and Alan and Ryans IG + IG army simply because they both LOOKED like a unified theme on the table... However, I wasn't the one with the scoring checklist, I don't really know how the scoring in this area worked, nor do I know much of anything about the game beyond what I think looks cool.  So there you go :).

The rules and checklists we used were pretty solid in my opinion.  They looked for specific things and awarded points based on that.  Going forward I would expect the scoring in all areas to closely resemble what we used this time around... especially if they encouraged aggressive play.  I hope everyone was satisfied with it all.
