GW Spray gun
« on: May 02, 2009, 11:58:09 PM »
I like the spray gun.  Easy to use.  I do not like the propellent. I may try to use a compressor with the gun.  The gun is easy to use and clean so I'm pretty happy with the purchase.  I did 2 leman russes, 2 chimeras and  sentinel with it.  Goes on pretty even but the propellant makes it troublesome with extended uses.

I was thinking of getting one of those things. How much do compressors run for any way? also do they have a universal fitting for the hose that connects to the gun? Like does a gun bought at A.C More have a different size hose then the GW one.

I pick up my compressor tomorrow with a moister trap.  I'll post my results later.

Can be but look at the GW air cans... 8 bucks for something that is not exactly constant to work with.

And the results were?

One other question, if it does work with a compressor, and I'd be surprised if it didn't (though it is GW), how broad of a spray can you get with this?

Cheers,

To be honest, I hooked it up, sprayed some air through, said "cool" and it has been sitting on a side table in my dining room since I got the setup.  Troops before vehicles!

Thread-o-mancy.

I actually like the gun/brush/flamer.

After almost 2 years of ownership, it still works.  I don't use it too much but for basecoating, I prefer no other way.  Tanks and marines have been my primary usage.  Mix it based on the ratios the paint reservoir says and you are in business.

DEFINITELY worth 30 bucks.  Get a compressor though if you are doing a bunch of models.  The canned air is only good for small amount of work.

What Compressor did you get I have a GW Spray gun and ya the propellant just died out on me and paying 8$ if like the last one only got like 6 figures basecoated properly would cost too much.
I ride in on my Bike with my Hat of awesome and say Nay this place should be on fire.
