As a publicly traded company there would have to have been some announcements and noise about it.
While the points made in the article are valid points, pointing to a possible set up for purchase, they could not get around reporting requirements of a publicly traded company if a deal happens.
Before a deal, the likelihood that a shareholder would squawk would also be pretty good.

Chase This isn't the only Blog thinking GW is setting up for sale. BOLS was mentioned Spikey Bits just talked about it. Faeit had an Article before they were taken down.  It has been speculated a lot recently.

I don't have time to read all the blogs, I rely on you guys (my people!) to fill me in on this stuff.  :)

I occasionally scope out DakkaDakka, but that's about it.  Matt Bennett usually links to interesting blog posts and I read those too.  People who's opinions I respect seem to have less than great things to say about all the blogs, so I don't know which one I should spend time with.

I'm skeptical about this one as well.

I have no knowledge of the going's on of selling a company but would they have disclose a sale if they were an international company? British's laws about this might be different.

This has been an on again off again rumor for several years, but some people got extra suspicious due to GW's increased release schedule as well as the fact that they didn't increase the cost of their models this year.. there is a seperate article of GW pricing themselves too high and hitting the ceiling of what people are willing to pay for the hobby.

Keep in mind that GW's IP in VERY valuable.. they are one of few hobbies that made it into the video game industry, and even recently the best selling Dawn of War 1 and Dawn of War 2 RTS videogames ( and their respective expansions) won several awards in the video game industy. Also GW broke the MMO barrier in 2008 with Warhammer Age of Reckoning, as well as the 40k MMO Dark Millenium that was originally planned. Very few IPs have this kind of power, so even if GW did sell.. the cost would be extremely high that only a handful of high profile companies would be able to afford.

There's been a lot of talk that the rapid release of codexes lately has been a way to drum up revenue and profits in preparation for a sale.

Marvel did, and it actually made it better. Wait for the new Star Wars.. gonna be better then anything Lucas could create  ;)

Should the miserable Grot crews survive for long they will soon become deafened and have to resort to a rudimentary system of sign language. This is rarely successful as there are only so many signs a Grot can carry around with him.
