So you wish to start a Chaos fleet, eh?

Well, good for you.  You chose one of the cheaper ones.  The rules for Chaos are in the main rulebook, which you can legally download in parts off the specialist games website (www.specialist-games.com), just make sure when it asks for your country you don't choose the US.  Don't question me, just choose the UK.

Also, you'll be able to read about all the rules there.  As for purchasing, you should start with the normal Chaos cruisers, which come in boxes of 2 in plastic (you lucky bastard).  If you ask Derek to order them, he can get them.  I can help you the next time I'm in (which is basically every day) with any other questions you have, as can John and Jonathan (but don't listen to him, he cheats).

I would first just download the rulebook (It comes in parts as .pdf files) or get it on eBay, they tend to go for cheap.  Read through the rules a bit, it is a very different game than Warhammer so don't expect a simple skim through will help in your transition.  However, we are all glad to help you and once you get a few ships we can start playing so you can get used to your fleet.  In the meantime, I know John has multiple fleets that he can teach you with if you come in on Wednesdays (and you can also watch us play), and I can easily break up my fleet to show you the basics.

Good to know you decided to come to the best GW has to offer. :D

My order is in and the Pirate Raiders have begun refit.

So how long before you field your pathetic evil pointy-ear fleet?  Did you download the rules and fleet list yet?

Yea I downloaded the Fleet list and rules for my DE and I read through the rules for the game as well. As far as fielding them might I ask one question: WHY ARE THEIR SPACSHIPS SPIKEY!? I really hate these spikey ships.

They're a fleet of slavers who torture their slaves.  Clearly they want to torture you, the modeler, as you assemble/construct/build their fleet before it tortures others i.e. slaves/opponents.

No pain no gain or some such nonsense.

Rob, how's the Tau fleet coming?  Maybe soon there will be another player, possibly Dark Eldar.

The tau fleet is coming along nicely.  There are two ships that will be joining it in the near future.  Another hero class, and a hire from the wonderful Demiurg.  Should be great fun for opponents.

Will either of them be ready for Wednesday, and if so, would you want to up the points for the fleet build?

Unfortunately neither of them will be.  Sorry.  Hell, my other Merchant  might not even be completely put together but it's body is there.

Nothing to be sorry about.  As long as you can tell which ship is which, its all good.

I'll also bring my Epic stuff.

Rob,
Thanks for playing that 1,300 point game.  I told you to bring your "A Game", what happened?  I know, you lost "for the greater good". ;D  I thought I was going to lose half my fleet when your battleship exploded  :o; way to many lance shots going around.  When my cruiser blew from that explosion, I said to myself this is gonna be a rough one.  All in all a great game!

So, do you think you can muster 1,500 points?  I was thinking we could play using the campaign rules if your interested.  They are great for a storyline and linking the games together.  Let me know.

So i have decided to buy alot of BFG stuff because its cheaper than 40k  ;D

So i have been on the GW site looking at some cruisers and bombers and of course the PLANET KILLER but i came across this thing called the "Blackstone Fortress"? Im just wondering if anyone knows exactly what it is and what it does, and if it has a page in the rule book?

The Blackstones were found by the Imperium in the Gothic Sector.  These "living spaceships", six in all, were converted into space stations and were the sites for many of the battles that occured during the war.  The forces of Chaos figured out how to activate them and were able to capture three.  They were used to destroy planets and stars.  The Blactstones self-destructed during the last battles of the Gothic War.

You can find the rules for the Blackstone Fortress in the Fleet Lists for the Imperium and the Planet Killer in the Armada rules.
