Thanks my army is painted just trying to get a feel.  Hopefully I will be able to stop by tomorrow.  Need to pick up a 5th edition rulebook anyway.

I try to brow beat this neckbeards into respecting the tables by not putting drinks on the table but it's a losing battle.

Generally, common sense.  I think in a strict sense, people aren't supposed to be eat over the tables and such.  So I would err on the side of caution here.

The community encourages painted figures and I hope you have a sense of humor if you don't paint.  Normal guy banter ensues if you don't paint your figs for a while.  No real restrictions for casual games and tournaments but most of the megabattles are pushing for painted models only.

When yall mention mega battles what do you mean?  I saw a bunch of picks but what kind of rulesets and so on are there for mega battles?

Painted schmainted. As to the MegaBattles there is an Annual Apocalypse game in Jan, and apocalypse games for any other megabattles that may pop up.

We even get Steve to paint.... once a year.

Megabattles are either planned in advance or just pick up out of the blue.  Rules are normally agreed on then and there.  Sometimes it's just a 3k of normal 40k, other times it's apoc with all the goodies.

I dare you to show me the player that doesn't smile when a Stompa throws a tank anywhere.  Or even better the shokk gun that can take out 3 carnifexes and a zoanthrop in one shot, then in the following turn shot himself into close combat with a hive tyrant and only his choppa and a big grin to defend himself.  Boooo Ya orkses!

So I came in Monday and had a good game the rules for 5th edition arent that much different so the transition hopefully will be an easy one. 

On a bad note it seems that my Space Wolf Codex has taken a long walk off a short pier with cement boots on.  Would anyone have an extra codex or could let me borrow one so I could take some notes and so on?  Would be very helpful in getting my army up to snuff.

I would definitly like a grudge match.  But need a codex so I can put my army together.  How many points you thinking for the grudge match?  I could probably do up to 3k-4k points.
