Yah i like the 5 black knight thing for command squads, they also clarified that the power field generator only affects the enbarked unit when enbarked. hurricane bolters do benefit from banner of devestation

Yeah, these are all good clarifications, and maybe now people will actually take ravenwing command squads with the devastation banner, which I think was pretty clear their main purpose for it.  (though honestly, with  Sammael and another IC you could pretty well protect the banner as it was, now it's just easier)

Who isnt taking dev banners with Ravenwing? Its the only way to fly! The army is borderline pathetic without it. I just wish my champion could get a storm shield then I wouldnt be considering moving to Az and an LRC for my command squad

The LRC with a command squad, and then some IC with that "everything with 3 inches is 4++" shield, is what everyone has been taking.  And because GW doesn't know how to write rules (or doesn't realize their consequences) that LR and everything near by, including other LRs had a 4++.  Sure, maybe you have ravenwing with that too.

SO they nerfed that, made the ravenwing command squad available in bigger sizes so it made abetter banner carrier, and now that all works better, comparatively, which is as it should be.  Every one is happy.

The dark angels fliers still suck the big one but at least they took missile lock off the jetfighter's rules which didn't have blast weapons anyway.

DA fliers are still awful, Tau ones too, if you ask me.  (I Hear some people defend them as "OK", but no one says they're awesome, and I have yet to see anyone build a serious list with one, so that tells you something)  And.....they still haven't fixed the mess they made of Helldrakes (they were really good before the last FAQ, and then the FAQ made them just stupid awesome for no reason).

agreed, the DA flyers are great looking models but if GW actually wanted to SELL those models they probably should of made the rules halfway decent. Same goes for that Plasma Battery speeder. great looking model, awful rules

it would be great if flyers were consistant across the board but in true GW fashion they span the entire spectrum

Necron flyers: Overpowered
Helldrakes: Overpowered
Stormraven: Good if configured for ground fire, but expensive point wise
Vendettas: Ok for the points but i stopped using them. The points can be better spent on troops IMO.
Storm Talon: the escort thing makes it ok for it's points
Dakka Jet: it's great if you Wagh with it, but your Wagh might be better elsewhere
DA Flyers: Both are garbage
Tau Bomber: heard it sucks
Tau Fighter: heard it's ok

I guess we will see what flyers Eldar get in June, after that it looks to be Vanilla around October but i don't see them getting anything on top of the Stormraven and Storm Talon.

After Eldar i'm guessing we don't see another flyer until IG next year or maybe Nids but that will probably be a flying MC.

Dev banner in an LRC is still a better choice I've just preferred the all bike army its more appealing although not as optimal.  Now I need to find 80 points to bulk up my command squad with the 2 extra bikes.
