Painting your models
« on: March 03, 2013, 08:38:52 PM »
The last post got deleted. Just wondering why I saw so many nonpainted models. No need to get so mad so fast. But seriously? Is that not part of the hobby?

When I was at the store today I saw at least 3games of 40k and fantasy going and neither side had painted models. Maybe spraypainted green but thats it. This is part ofthe hobbypeople. quit being so damn lazy.

The community is FULL of painted models.  You didn't see any when you stopped by on a Sunday, so what?

It's part of the hobby if and only if the person wants it to be.  Some people enjoy pushing plastic, rolling dice, and thinking / talking strategy, some like painting models, some like both.  Sorry the games you saw didn't please you.

Here's a look as some albums with a few painted models.

And yeah, great to meet you.

Simple enough we encourage people to play with pieces they buy. Painting is yes part of the hobby we encourage people to paint their pieces. Every Tournament Battlegrounds runs doesn't require you to paint the pieces but painting is part of player's Choice and they have generous rewards for best Painted.

A new player who buys pieces we will not segregate him from the community because he hasn't painted his pieces yet. You will not get new people in this hobby by forcing them to buy an army spend weeks painting it and then find out things you are playing with don't work.

Considering this is your first post on the forums and it is criticizing players of our community is pretty much trolling. You never mentioned which store and you are not part of this community. You coming in here judging our player base before knowing them is just as Prejudice as judging people by the color of their skin.

Good Day sir to you and hope this actually answers some of your unjustified and immature remarks on these forums.

Hmm, I'd like to help you discover the information you're looking for.  I think the best idea would be to find the  guys you saw and ask them personally why their models aren't painted.   I bet it would be in interesting conversation!

I too must say troll, because I would prefer to think no one is this willfully ignorant or judgmental.

Plainville is a very young community with many new players. Frankly JimLeary, you need to deal with that fact. Not everyone masters every aspect of every hobby immediately, just the same as you are failing to master basic human interaction.

I think what he is saying is that for someone who is new to miniature games a table full of half green spray painted...or black spray painted is not a real turn on. I am still going to play warhammer there but it would be nice to play with opponents who take the time and pride into their armies...not saying painted well, but at least painted...at least the 3 color rule.

There are prepainted mini games for those who just want to play a game...even magic, which has some of the best rules for any game ever, is ready for those that just want to get a product and play a game.
