Death from the skies

Ok I got my copy. Really all it is, is a over glorified white dwarf. The only new stuff are pilot traits for a Death from the skies game, and Vanilla marines and Black Templars getting the Stormraven and Black Templars getting the Stormtalon. Also im not sure how big of a deal this is, but units taken from this book are detachments. Does this mean I need to get a second HQ and 2 troops?

What is the exact wording regarding detachments?

Under army list it reads as follows: "the Flyers in this section may only be included in detachements chosen associated Codex(es), as indicated by the icons on the profile. The force organization choice they occupy is also listed in the profiles, next to the names of the units

So im not sure what it means exactly by only included in detachements

It basically means (the way you wrote it) that you can only use these fliers with their codex's army.  In other words the BT stormraven in the fast slot is a stormraven in the fast slot only if you have a black templars army or ally

sounds to me like it's referring to "primary detachment" and "allied detachment" but i could be wrong.

I am hopping this is the case. I wrote it word for word from the book

So the rules changed for the stormtalon which makes this... a codex supplement for Space Marines, required for anyone who wants to use the stormtalon. Interesting.
