The Horus Hersey series is very good.

If you looking for one off's Nightbringer is one of my favorites. As far as small series <3 novels or less the Eisenhorn and Ravenor series are both very good.

"The Masque of Vyle" novel looks AWESOME! In case anyone isn't familar with the Eldar races, the Harlequins are the only beings that can set foot on Craftworld Eldar and Dark Eldar territory and still be outright feared and respected.. this also applies to the Imperial Inquisition to some extent.

Either way, THE ARCHONS WILL BE JUDGED! Check it out http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?prodId=prod1940089a

I have only read 2... Dead sky black sun and Lord of the night...
Dead sly summery: A ultramarines commander and Sgt are sent on a death mission being exiled from their chapter... and meet with a Daemon who warps them into the eye of terror... into the homeworld of the IRON SONS... or IRON FISTS im not sure.  The sgt is revealed to be cursed by the Night-bringer while the commander is revealed to be completly unknowing to the fact of his curse's effects. Finally they get a mission... battle through 3 waring armies and unlock the blood heart....
Lord of the Night summery: After slumbering for many years, the apprentice of the Nightlord's primarch awakes. He rises, and goes through the world gathering an army to get back what is his... the Corona Nox. The apprentice also finds a witch... a female imperial psyker. They battle each other at first, until they encounter the Eldar in a mission to take the Corona Nox.
I love both of these books, and the plots are very decent i beleive.

If you like dark angels. Decent of angels and Fallen angels are great hh novels. Savage weapon, Ravenwing, and Purge of kalderas are pretty good reads.

While I tend to not enjoy sci-fi or fantasty novels I have been reading some of the Black Library books. The initial three Space Wolves book (the collected omnibus) weren't bad, though they started a little slow for me. The Ultramarines omnibus is good as well and does not JUST focus on the Ultramarines so you get a little bit about Dark Eldar, the Inquistion, Arbites and so on.

The other I tried to read was the Word Bearers omnibus which is total trash. The ideas and scope were interesting but the author doesn't know how to write or is relying on a very lazy editor.
