[Abington] 40K night.
« on: December 05, 2012, 07:16:02 PM »
So, when's a good night to come out to Abington for 40K?  I'd rather not drive all the way down to Plainville.  How about Friday, or Sunday. (I may be busy this Saturday)  Will anyone be up for an 1850 match.

The past few weekends have been really good in Abington for 40K. But I would advise to stay as far away from Abington as far as 40K goes for fridays (until they move to the new place). Friday is for all the FNMers to come on down, and there is little to no table space aviaible. I may/ may not be there this Sunday and if I do I'll have around 1500 in tote.

There is a rumor floating around that once BG moves, 40k will be making a big comeback.

We're hoping so, but it requires players playing!

This thread is the first step towards making it happen.  It seems like a large problem Abington has been having is that the player base is either uninterested or can't ever get together at the same time.

A night of the week that people can and will make it down to play some games is very important.

Preferably a night of the week with no MTG players.

Thursdays should be pretty decent once the new store happens since even if MTG players are around, there will still be plenty of room for them, other mini games and 40k.

I plan on switching gears a bit once the WM/H league ends for some 40k. That new CSM codex needs some love.

EDIT:
With limited game time, I find it hard to really divide between the two. Besides, I think people are sick of seeing a stormwall stuffing their armies.  :P

Once there is room on a friday night to play we'll get more 40k going on for sure.

Looking forward to it, nothing like ending the week with some mayhem.

There has been a lot of 40K activity on the weekend. Every time i have been there, there was at lease 1 game going on. It's a good mix because there are no MTG players and there are plenty of table space to play and to model/ paint. I also know Derek was talking about running a 40K league when they move. But I believe (for right now) the day for 40K is the weekends.

The problems with having a 40k day / night on Saturday is that bigger events will likely disrupt the consistency.

Abington has seen a massive lack of events for a long, long time due to the layout of the space.  Once we've got a layout we can work with we are likely to increase the amount of events you guys have on the weekends.

Sundays seem fine... If they work....

Besides, I think people are sick of seeing me only play Siege because I lose with most other casters (except to the worst one in the game, in which case my opponent will have to talk me out of throwing the game)  :P

Fixed.

Had a great game today vs Murph.  Necrons vs Spacewolves.  Used some mysterious terrain and some artifacts.  The artifacts actually affected the game.  Spacewolves started with a Holy Relic (that gave them 2VP) on their side and the Necrons had a Force Dome Generator that protected a squad of warriors from the Spacewolh HQ mounted on a wolf.  The Game was a tie at the end but was a lot of fun.
