Question about modeling
« on: October 23, 2012, 10:52:30 AM »
While I have been working on Necrons I've started a side project of renegade Imperial Guard and wanted to ask a question that pertains to modeling.

Given the fact that autoguns and lasguns have the same stats...is it okay to model Imperial Guard with autoguns and call them lasguns?

Some of the Forgeworld kits for renegade Guard have autoguns and, personally, I like the look of them more for such a debased and ragtag force.

Thoughts?

well first if you are going to use them in a stricter tournament setting then thier may be a problem. but in friendly games then there really shouldn't be a problem. second if they really have the same exact stat line then why worry use them as what they are and there is no problem.

Yeah, they are both Str 3; AP -; 24" Rapid Fire weapons. Truth be told, I doubt it would every be questioned...just wanted to be sure I was not doing something terribly illegal as I model and plan out this renegade Guard force.

If there's ever a question about use in any tournament, simply ask the tournament organizers well before the event.

Anyone who doesn't let you use the models in a friendly game is not really interested in a friendly game. :)

I have 100 "cultists" (cough guardsmen) in my renegade army and I have never thought twice about bringing it to a GT/tourney/friendly game. You will be just fine.
