Every one has the ability to purchase Quad Flak Guns or Icarus Las Cannons. Every one practicly has fliers now. Really it should not be that big of a problem since fliers are Glass Cannons if you can hit them cleanly.

O RLY?  I can't take Quad Flak Guns or Icarus Las cannons,  My fliers have 4 wounds and can vector strike at STR 6 at best.

Keith, dude, a dakka flyrant has 12 str 6 shots twinlinked.  Also, you can fire in any direction you want, making it very easy to get rear armor.  So you'll get 4.5 hull points on the rear armor of....basically anything but a Stormraven. 

Or you can do your nearly unkillable 4 tervigon thing, whatever.  Point is, no one weeps for tyranids no more.

Flyrant is way too expensive for what he does, and dies very easily.  I never said Tyranids are bad, I just said they don't have reasonable solutions to fliers other than "ignore and focus on everything else".  Which can work fine, but at some point they become a large problem.

I think this is one of those persepctive things.....kinda like if I told you psychotroke grenades weren't that good.  (about half the time, whatever result you roll is not meaningful, like ld2 against 30 orks).

T6, 4 wounds, 3+ armor save, over 200 points.  Able to be grounded by ANY shot that hits. 

Not really much to debate about.

Bullcrap.  There's debate, I'm debating it right now.  Yeah, you can crash.....most of the time you don't.  T6 and something you can only hit on 6's is pretty awesome. 

Dude in the top bracket at Battle For Salvation was running dual flyrants.  Mike Bryant won the second Braket with his tyranids (no flyrants, though). 

I weeped for tyranids before, in 5th, but I am done now!  Your army is good, Keith, rejoice!  You need be emo no longer.

Again, not complaining about my army, merely pointing out an observation. RE: fliers.

Hitting on 6's isn't that bad with volume of shots or rerolls.  ESP with Tesla.  Also, as soon as other fliers come on, they can take him down easily.   

As not not falling down, there is a 33% chance each time a unit hits you....  If someone wants it dead, it dies.
