This is something I noticed and think needs to be brought up ASAP Chase to anyone planning to bring CSM. They must bring a Chaos Spawn model as well a Daemon Prince model because of the Boons of Chaos table. Your army consists of loads of guys who roll on that table if they get a kill and if you roll a result that would spawn a Chaos Spawn or Daemon Prince rules state you need to put that model on the table if you can not you are coming to a Tournament without your proper army. I am not trying to be a jerk about it. I am trying to avoid Issues for Chase and the Battleground guys when this comes up because the last thing they want to do is have to punish someone over an unlucky dice roll.

Easy fix man if you dont have the model you dont get the boon.  You just wasted your role.  Very easy At least for Daemon Prince.

For Chaos Spawn if you dont have the model you are removed from play.  Another easy one.

Such is the way of Chaos.

Both those models have special rules that state they are still your warlord now. You are giving away a free point or two in that case of a Chaos Spawn which is an actual model. In the case of Say Abaddon becoming a Daemon prince. you would be worse off with with a Normal Daemon Prince than Abaddon. So you are getting a better deal out of it in that situation.

This isn't something you can easy fix and call it a day because it will cause issues. Better Preparation prevents poor performance. Chase already is resolving the issue leaving it to him to sort out.

Your making a mountain out of a mole hill.  I go to numerous GT and tournys accross the country.  And trust me this has come up and isnt that big of a deal.

It actually is a very easy fix.  If you think the DP is a negative then the easier option is if you dont have the model you are removed from play.  To tell someone they have to buy $60 in models for the 5% chance they might need it and stop someone from playing is rediculous.  The players that are serious will have both models on hand those that dont make the effort deal with the conciquences.

All that needs to happen is Sam saying if you dont have the model you are removed from play.  BAM issue resolved.

I'm sure in the case of such an event an easy enough proxy can be found.  Spawn are 40mm so just about any terminator or crisis suit would do, right?  DP is a little more finicky but a tyrant or Dreadknight should do.

I'll bring an extra NDK for people just in case.  If you want to be fussy about the slight size differences of these models.......don't be that guy.

If people could make an effort to bring a model with the correct size base, that would be ideal, but not something I would make a big deal of if this came up and they didn't have the model.  Somebody would have something close enough to sub in, in a pinch.

I think this is what should happen.

If you do not have a spawn or Demon Prince your lord or champion dies; you treat it like not being able to place the model, as you can't place one.

You can convert your own Spawn and/or Demon Prince, but no just using a model that is on the same size base as this tournament is WYSIWYG.

Will we be using the Battle zone traits? i have been DYING to use it! some of them are insain, yet awesome. Every model in the game gets a 6+ feel no pain if you roll double 6, there is another where you add 3 inches to jump infentry's range, and non-template weapons. and another does the complete oposite of the last, it would add alot of luck to the game.
