« on: September 07, 2012, 12:34:40 PM »
There's a whole slew of new FAQ updates on GW's site some interesting stuff.

Highlights:

-Fateweaver only works on Codex Daemon's
-Necron's can re-embark in Scythe's
-Tau get there Target lock back & Dpods provide shrouding
"I'm going to sacrifice my pyramid turtles"
-Anonymous card player who makes me wonder if I sound like this talking about 40k!

Moss:"What operating system is it running?"
Bomb Technician:"Vista!"
Moss:"Where all going to die!"

 There are a lot of big changes;

No more bouncing flying monsters taking infinite grounding tests;
Cant use Nova/AOE effects against flyers;
If you ignore Diff Terrain (like jump troops/Wraiths), you are still I1;
Instant Death trumps FNP;

Big change;  if your transport is blown up in enemy's turn, unless it is assault vehicle, you cannot assault on your turn.
Big change;  Flyer's in Hover Mode do *not* have Skyfire.
0000 - Rest Period - BUT YOU BETTER NOT SPEND FOUR WHOLE HOURS SLEEPING. IF YOU DO YOU ARE NOT ANGRY ENOUGH AND TOMORROW YOU GET THE FIRST CHANCE TO PLAY PIN THE TAU ON THE CARNIFEX.

Big changes to characters, if I'm reading correctly Nobz are only characters when leading a squad, but not when the squad is all nobz.  No more Paladin characters.  Look out sir is now always applied to the model closes to the character.

Did Abaddon's weapon change?  It doesn't mention any change in the FAQ, and the fact that it's still referred to as a "Power Weapon" leads me to believe it hasn't.  If this is the case, does this mean his weapon gets the +1D6 attacks at AP 3 still, while a regular Demon Weapon attacks at AP 2?

There's a quiet corollary there.....if your LR or wagon or whatever is wrecked, you CAN assault next turn, which was in some doubt.

This is number 1 A+++ in the whole FAQ by far. Just sped up the game by quite a bit and even with multiple characters making it the closest models keeps it faster and more lethal.

Yeah, I'm wholly behind nerfing the character unit thing, but I'm not sure making the LoS! go to the next model was really necessary.  They obviously changed their mind about when saves vs LoS! are made when the unit has the same save, so that's a good thing.

BTW, I guess technically, an un-split Necron Court would still all be characters?  Not that I think it matters much.

I laughed out loud when I saw the new Tau disruption pods.  I was enjoying my Hammerheads enough already.  I'm not sure they know what they've done.

On the other hand, Fateweaver (and other flying monstrous creatures) can now choose to Skyfire when zooming.
