Where is all the terrain?

Where the heck did all the terrain in Abington go? I played  a game of 40k tonight and only had hills to work with which kinda sucked no one had cover. It was a rather dull game if you ask me due to lack of terrain. Where did it all go?

I bet I could build 6+ awesome tables with what's in Abington right now.

But yeah, 40k Doubles was last weekend and Singles is 2 weeks away.  Derek took a ton of stuff to Abington for the WM/H Doubles and brought most of it back for Plainvilles 40k events.

Did you look / ask around, Steve?  He brought at least 3 awesome tables + terrain back with him last Saturday.

I can't overstate this enough...  The terrain distribution disparity between the two stores is a MYTH.  In direct contradiction to popular belief over in Abington, the fact is the location typically has ALL of the latest / best tables and terrain generated by the business outside of tournament days or periods like this when we've got 2 large events 3 weeks apart.  What Plainville does have is the latest and best terrain from 1.5-2 years ago, when the store opened, plus the awesome terrain Mike Salzman (a member of the Plainville community) has made over the past year or so.

Right this second, and for the next two weeks, Plainville does have a ton of stuff.

Why?  Because it's a total pain in the ass to have to move 10 tables and all their terrain back and forth every 3ish weeks.

Megabattle time is coming, which means new tables and terrain are coming, which means Abington will get a bunch of new stuff (again) soon.  The students are also out of school for summer break.  Rally the troops and crank out some terrain?  Want a kit, a brush, some glue, and some paint to make something for the store?  Email me and I'll make sure it's done.

I looked high and low and asked Nick he said there was nothng after looking all we could find were some foam hills under one of the tables. Nice For Warmachine Hordes, and Warhammer Fntasy but 40k needs more terrain for cover.

The Dystopian Wars terrain was taken for the 40k event. I lol'd and went home instead of spending time at the store.

EDIT: "Rally the troops and crank out some terrain?"

Volunteering is cool and all, but I dislike the idea of customers fixing a habitual problem. I get the tournament issue. Its a crappy situation for you guys. However, it doesn't help me play games at your stores.

It was?  I didn't see any Distopian Wars terrain.  The water table definitely wasn't taken.

The table wasn't, but all the islands and rocks were. Last night, it looked like a decent amount was still missing, but I could be wrong.

O_o

Very weird.  I didn't see any of them and obviously wouldn't have a use for them.  I wonder if they were in a bin that Derek just threw in his truck.

You and Derrek need to end the Rumor that Plainville gets "all the good terrain." LOL. I heard it is because Dark Star is down that way and the game is more popular. Abington in my opinion has a tough time with the game due to lack of quality terrain. Dont get me wrong I understand that a bunch of idiots will more than likely beat it up so I understand... some what. :p

Some players in Plainville have asked me where all the terrain is. Seriously. Grass is always greener...

But i don't want green grass i want blackened burnt grass with blasts and craters. a brownish blak would be better.

The "rumor" that Plainville gets all the good terrain is exactly that, a rumor.

The Dark Star comment literally made me laugh out loud.  They have NOTHING to do with what terrain is at either store.  Dark Star is a group of guys (that I happen to really like), that support the store, support the events, are very helpful, happen to be talented players / hobbyists, that have been friends for years and happen to put a group together.  Almost all of them live 45+ minutes away from the store and are not there on a weekly basis.  Saying they have an effect on what terrain is in Plainville is like saying Steve D going to Abington is the reason why I had Burger King for lunch today.

Almost all of the time Abington has the majority of "the best" terrain in terms of a standard game of 40k.  Like I said before, Abington almost always has ALL of the latest, greatest store produced terrain.

Think about it...  Derek makes almost all of the terrain for the store.  Guess where Derek makes it and where he keeps it?

All the other store produced terrain is made by Nick.  Guess where Nick makes it and where he keeps it?  He's never even been to Plainville before!

The terrain does come here for events and then almost always goes right back to Abington.  This is a case of terrible timing.  Abington has had a bunch of great 40k tables and terrain for them set up for weeks.  We took most of it to Plainville for the 40k Doubles.  We left most of the stuff we took in Plainville for the 40k Singles in 2 weeks.

It's circumstance.  40k hasn't seen much play in Abington lately.  Warmachine and Fantasy have seen more play there.  40k sees lots of play in Plainville.  Warmachine and Fantasy see a lot less, relatively.  The 3 week shift seemed fine.  Just circumstance.  Unfortunate circumstance.

Steve, when do you come down to Plainville on a Thursday and hang out?

Terrain is sometimes light in Abington during the weekend of a large 40K or Fantasy tournament in Plainville.

That's it.
