Since we're getting it 1.5+ months before the Megabattle, if at all possible, we're going to run it in 6th edition.

Chase,
If at all possible, can we stick with 5th edition? I ..................... I think that everyone will not have a compete understanding of the rules and that's just going to slow things down even more than they usually are.

You'll be fine, I'm looking forward to playing 6th in the mega battle, and frankly the rules in 6th are so much cleaner it should be better all round.

I agree and am also looking forward to it.

Whereas I agree that it may feel a little bizarre to a lot of people, we are going to be using the 6th edition rules for this event.

I just read the errata and it seens fair. 1 Structure point represents 3 HP so a Bane Blade has a ton of HP now.

wonderful idea unfortunatly haywire attacks do nothing to super heavies unless they roll a 6 which causes a glance.

but on the upside there is now only one vehicle damage chart for the megabattle.

having one damage chart is very helpful. Wait isnt there a second one for the heavy fliers?

nope.

one chart to rule them all, one chart to find them, one chart to bring them all and in the darkness bind them.

I am considering joining with my Eldar again, but am not inclined to sign up until I know what side the Eldar are going to fight on.  Don't much care which side, but don't know if I should be lurking on the orderly boards if it is likely that the battle will be all against Imperials.

I'm assuming we're using the V6 flyer rules rather than the Apocalypse?  V6 has an 18 inch minimum movement when flyers are zooming.  Eldar Nightwing Interceptors have "Impossible Maneuvers," "The Nightwing can move a minimum of 18" rather than the usual 36" required for flyers."

On the larger Apocalypse boards, should we be using a longer minimum move?  If we are going with the shorter 18" minimum move, does "Impossible Maneuvers" have the effect of halving the minimum move?

In V6, flyers have an Evade maneuver, giving them a 5+ jink save at the cost of reducing them to snapshot fire for the rest of the turn.  The Nightwing also has Eldar Holo Fields, which gives them a 4+ chance of ignoring incoming fire.  It would seem that the Nightwing could use both?  (At 285 points, it had better.)

I visited Forge World's errata, but they don't speak to these.

I plan to switch a certain degree of focus to the Megabattle starting either this weekend or next Monday, for better or worse.

The sides are very slowly evening out, but it seems clear that we will fall short of our goal and that the 1v1 tables, at the minimum, will be removed.

We will be using as much of the 6th ed rules as possible, although flyers being capped at 36 inches (or whatever) seems sort of dumb.

If someone would like to start a thread full of Apocalypse related questions that should be answered that might help make things run more smoothly on game day.  (and I can't believe I just did that to myself)

It's traditional, isn't it?  A Megabattle rules question thread?  And your repeatedly doing stuff to yourself?
