Colossal Spoilers
« on: May 09, 2012, 02:05:10 PM »
So far the Conquest and Kraken have been somewhat spoiled. Also the new NQ contains the rules for the Colossals in general.

Conquest:

SPD:4
P+S: 22 (x2 fists)
ARM: 23 --> Might only be 20 since this is gleaned from a NQ battle report. +3 might be coming from Harkevich's feat.

Main Gun: RNG 15, POW 15, AOE 4, Crit Devastation
Other Guns: **Guessing* RNG 12, POW 12, AOE 3, ROF 2.** Can be used to drop x4 3" Covering Fire AOE's within 12" of itself.

Kraken:

SPD: 5
P+S: 18
ARM: 20

Main Gun: RNG 16, POW 14, AOE 3

- Gains Corpse Tokens
- 4" Reach

Colossals In General:

Focus – They can be allocated 3 focus a turn like a regular warjack.* Unless they have special rules they don’t generate their own focus per turn and they also cannot be Jackmarshalled.

Battlegroup – They are counted as part of the battlegroup and classed as a Huge Based Warjack – all very important for what spells effect them.

Damage – Little confusion here but the basics are this:* Damage wraps within left/right arc grid then transfers to the next once full, d6 to determine column.* If an attacker has its base in both the left/right arc they can choose which side to damage.* Back arc you can also choose the left/right arc.

Continuous effects, damage without a point of origin and damage not from an attack, etc. are basically randomised with a 2 step process.

Attacks – First up power attacks that come in 2 forms:

Power Swipe – Open Fist needed, basically a Slam without the direct line restrictions/movement.
Sweep – Thresher like attack

The Colossals can also make ranged attacks while engaged like Battle Engines.

They all have 2" Reach as standard.

A Huge Based model without it would be pretty sad. I'm very interested in these spoilers, but my heart is still set on finding out what the Protectorate Colossal does :)

I think you'll be waiting until July when the book drops for the Menoth Colossal. Cygnar gets its toy first with Khador and Cryx on deck.

Still, it looks kinda cool from the art. An over-sized Avatar with rocket batteries? Sounds cool.

I was going to stay away from the Conquest initially because I was looking to grab two Stormwalls, but its pretty crazy how quick they'll be able to make theirs, let alone how hard it'll be hitting.

**EDIT**

Looks like Bell of Lost Souls has a snippet of what the Menoth one does. Surprise, it gets free focus!  :P

Judicator - Protectorate Colossal

Reliquary - This model is allocated 1 additional focus point during your Control Phase. The S boxes of this modelʼs damage grid represent its Reliquary system. While its Reliquary system is disabled, this model loses the benefits of Reliquary.

What does the Cygnar one do?  Has it been "spoiled" yet?

I don't know, but its safe to assume POW 10's will be involved.  :D

The Merc one is one of the more interesting Colossals in the group. Its probably safe to guess that the "crane" arm will have 4" reach. I doubt it'll be below P+S 18 on either weapon. The guns pique my interest. I'm guessing two guns that are ROF 3.

Oh ya I am just hoping minons get one.

They won't at first. PP said the only ones coming out are for the main factions (Mountain King -- Trolls, Wold Wrath -- Circle, Archangel -- Legion, Mammoth -- Skorne). That said I do hope that they come up with both a Battle Engine and Colossal for Minions sometime soon. A part of me wonders if the Swamp Horror could have been the Minion Colossal...

I don't think it would have been a good sign if Gators had a 2:1 ratio of heavies to colossals

Some feats...

Artificer General Adept Nemo & Finch
- Feat: Eye of the Storm // While in Nemoʼs control area, friendly models gain an additional die on electrical damage rolls. Eye of the Storm lasts for one turn.

Asphyxious the Hellbringer & Vociferon
- Feat: Rites of Shadow // When an enemy model is forced, casts a spell, and/or spends one or more more focus or fury points while in Asphyxiousʼ control area, Asphyxious heals d3 damage point and gains 1 soul token. Rites of Shadow lasts for one round.

Vladimir Tzepesci, Great Prince of Umbrey
- Feat: Charge of the Horse Lords // While in Vladimirʼs control area, friendly Faction warjacks and cavalry models gain Side Step and Sprint. Charge of the Horse Lords lasts for one turn. (When a model with Side Step hits an enemy model with an initial melee attack or a non-power attack special attack, after the attack is resolved it can advance 2˝. A model with Side Step cannot be targeted by free strikes during this movement.) (At the end of its activation, if it destroyed one or more enemy models with melee attacks during its activation, a model with Sprint can make a full advance.)
- Has Infernal Machine as a spell, possibly.

Kreoss 3
- Feat: Feat: Invocations of the True Law // Enemy upkeep spells and animi in Kreoss' control area immediately expire. Then Kreoss can immediately cast each upkeep spell on his card without spending focus points.

Vyros, Incissar of the Dawnguard - Retribution Cavalry Epic Warcaster
Feat: Tide of War
When a friendly Faction model is destroyed by an enemy attack, except while advancing, in Vyros's control area, immediately after the attack has been resolved a friendly Faction model in Vyrosʼ control area can make a full advance. A model can only advance once as a result of Tide of War. Tide of War lasts for one round.

Hyperion's Gun...

WEAPONS [HYPERION]
Star Burst [1x] (Y) RNG: 10 ROF: 1 AOE: 5 POW: 18

Snipe
Unstoppable Force (Cost 2 SELF Ctrl Upkeep): Models in the battlegroup gain Bulldoze.

Lock & Load is this weekend I believe so we'll know pretty much everything by tomorrow or Saturday I would guess.

The official release is like mid-July.
