In January we informed you that we were going to make a major Change to the Citadel Paint Range and told you we’d have more information at the end of March.

The end of March is upon us and we’re excited to announce the launch of our entirely new paint range!

·         145 entirely new paints

·         The paints are designed to give each hobbyist great results that are easy to achieve.

·         Every Games Workshop customer will want to buy some new paints.

Starting Monday March 26th you can place an order for the new paint range which we will deliver to you read for the street date of Saturday April 7th.

Your account manager will be sending you an e-mail today with specific details later today.    We will also be calling you starting Monday to discuss the new range and how you can buy it.

Assuming you haven’t called us first!

We look forward to speaking with you next week.

Ladies and Gentlemen:

The new Citadel paint line is here and it is awesome! We will be talking about it at length with you next week, but we wanted to get some basic info out to you right now:

1.    The Citadel paint line has 145 colors broken up into Base, Layer, Shade, Drybrush, Glaze, Texture, and Technical paints

2.    This is a complete paint system that will let you paint your models from start to finish.

3.    The results are awesome, easier to achieve, and faster to finish for all Hobbyists

4.    IRRELEVANT TO YOU GUYS

5.    The complete line will fit in the same area as the old paint line (the rack is taller, but still occupies a 2’x2’ area)

6.    There will be a color conversion chart in White Dwarf 387 so Hobbyists can match their old colors up with the new line

7.    The cost of the paint is not changing: $3.70 USD/$4.45 CAN per pot

We will be taking pre-orders starting next week and your orders will be shipping to arrive by Friday, April 6th

Getting a bigger rack from GW... who knew?

Dear Loyal Customer,

We've done it again! That thing you have? Not good enough! This new thing, totally better. Your old things are (mostly) compatible.
Some old paints with their new names/equivalents. Enjoy the confusion.

They didn't bring back bulbous green, so what good are they?  Well, at least they aren't calling Craftworld Elefayin green Dark Angels green anymore.  A small step in the right direction.

Can some one please explain the point of re-naming the paints?

I had heard that one of the reasons is that they changed manufacturers so that the colors "might" not be a match of the previous version.
If that is not the answer changing names makes 0 sense to me.
