Thanks for the warm welcome.

Once I get settled in from the move in two weeks, I will try my best to make whatever tournaments I can at each location. Also, if you need to get word out to the stores down around Providence, PM me on the forums here and I will make sure to let people know. I will do the same with this crowd for their scene if that is ok.

Easy advice Eric, is to ignore everything Goss ever posts.

I was playing Circle at the Game on even in Feb.  I met you there I believe.

I'm actually glad Goss posted. I forgot how awesome the Hardcore/Highlander double header was. I'd do that again in a heartbeat.

I just like when you can get a tournament over in enough time you can play another one, thats pretty awesome.  Plus I don't have to think about two lists!

I just got back from the team tournament. I definitely had a lot of fun, but have a few thoughts on some of the rules/rulings.

- The TO had made it so your partner's models where considered "non-friendly" (but not enemy), which also circumvents "friendly faction model." I know he probably did this in an effort to eliminate some nasty in-faction combinations, but...

 1) it makes you not want to do things too thematic and double up on a single faction and...

2) there are plenty of combinations that are as ridiculous or even more so that what you can find in a single faction. Danny and I ran pHaley and pDeneghra and we effectively tabled our first two opponents. One the final table we lost to pdenny and pVayl by about 4-5 army points.

After the first round we also knocked around the idea of pKreoss and eCaine/Sloan - isn't LOS typically eCaine's/Sloan's only issue in terms of assassination? Or basically any kind of 'hold you in place' caster like eHaley/Old Witch/Harby with say, Terminus? Maybe its an oversight on my part, but it didn't feel like it would be much worse if we were friendly models.

- While you want everyone to play, I don't think there shouldn't be a team comprised of a single player running two lists. Removing the need to converse and plan with your teammate with the lengthened turn time limit seems iffy to me.

All in all its a pretty fun format. Maybe BG can try one in the near future.

Nothing wrong with hardcore, but doing it all the time would be not advisable.

I'd don't think I'd ever consider a double-header again. 3-4 games in one go is more than enough for me.

I really like the team idea. What were the missions, etc? I might work on one to do. I would want thematic stuff though.

Personally, im not a huge team game person, but that's just me, and what ever tournament, i would be glad to see an increase in Warmachine at BG.

I forget the names so I'll just describe it the best I can.

1. Three control points. One near each team's deployment, and a third in the center that could only be held by a warlock/warcaster.
2. Kill Box. And in addition there's like an 8x36" area that you have to contest/control.
3. Capture the flag type scenario with reinforcements.

I think when it comes to theme I would make this sole edit: If you play the same faction then you are considered to be friendly faction models. If you don't then you are considered unfriendly.

The only team made up of two lists of the same faction was the team that only had one player. Obviously there's a lot of synergy within a faction, and having two casters of the same faction is advantageous. But I don't think its any more powerful than adding a caster and units to round out your army/faction and do what it doesn't do naturally.

I mean Danny and I combined pDenny and pHaley. What doesn't Cryx do? It doesn't soften things up well from afar and lacks ranged utility. No problem, Cygnar will pick off anything annoying and cover the advance so life's easier for you in melee. What's Cygnar missing? The ability to consistently make the innumerable POW 10's we spew count. Well, thanks to spells like Parasite and Crippling Grasp that problem is solved.

And like I said before, what about mixing a caster with lots of KD effects (pKreoss) with a ranged assassin (eCaine)? What about someone who can trap you in place (eDenny) with someone who will murder you in melee (eStryker)? What about doubling up on casters that don't allow you to do anything (Harby & Old Witch)?

Armies are capable of being obnoxiously gross even with the caveat of not being friendly towards each other.

You could go either way, Sean. I guess that all just comes from a theme perspective, and also not really seeing what uncontrollably broken in-faction combination it kept from hitting the table.

Team games.... Interesting, very interesting.... On a sidenote - when setting up lists, if you decided to do the same army with both players, what was the ruling on field allowance?
(Wants to see a Minion & Mercenary army team-up.)

I got a 1!....That's a good thing, right?
