Is there a painting requirement being planned? This will dictate if I wait and save up to get my army painted pro style or if I do it myself in my typical splash and dash style =)

That's a good question I had not yet considered. I'll make sure it gets on the pile of things to sort out.

I generally do not care, but for an event like this... I would really like to see a 3-color minimum required for models. We have a great group of players lined up, the last thing I want to play against is an army of grey plastic at what is supposed to be the crown jewel of Battleground events. Ya know?

I'm personally against a painting requirement since none of the qualifying events had a painting requirement.

Sure it would be nice and maybe something to add for next years invitational, that way people would have a year to get whatever army they plan on taking fully painted.

I'm already racing to get stuff painted for Templecon, no way i will have my stuff ready for January 5th

The more quickly we have a rules packet so we know which army to paint, the more reasonable a painting requirement is. I qualified in 5th edition and am building an army (well, an army is being built....) for this event, but it can't get painted until I build the list, which I cannot do until I know what kind of event this'll be.

I don't think making painting a requirement would work at this point as we are 5 weeks from the event.  That said there is at least one major award that tends to require you to be painted...

Painting will not be a requirement.

First page of this thread could do with an update regarding the final date and points.  I found both combing through the whole thing, but who really wants to do that?!

We should be official sooner rather than later.

I'm really psyched for this, although if I could vote, I'd vote for mandatory painting.  That said, I guess it does open more army list options for me with less work.  Maybe a horde of chaos cultists... Or some Necron allies...

Whatever you're running, hurry up and finalize it and let me know so I can start the tailoring process.

Speaking of which, we need to submit lists at all?
