Sounds like Steve Bowe is going to be here tonight with Skaven.

I'd imagine the normal crew of 4-6 will be here also.

There were only three people there last night, Josh, Jake, and myself.

Josh and I played a 2500 point game of WoC against my Skaven...

Well, it was fun haha.  I lost 21 clanrats in the first turn to a helcannon shot, then lost all 36 stormvermin to dual debuffs that reduced their toughness to 0, instantly removing the entire unit.

Well, at least I had some good shots back at times! :)

I guess only the most hardcore gamers show up this close to christmas lol. Shame that you lost, as much as I hate skaven, I have a special enmity towards WoC. How was he able to ream you in magic like that?

Just some bad dispel rolls on my part, throwing 4 dice at about an 18 with a level 3 caster and failing.  Most of the times it wound up with 10 power dice for him, and 6 dispel for me, so I just wouldn't have the dice to take care of everything.

I had some fun Warpfire Thrower shots and a few truly awesome Warp Lightning Cannon shots though!

More than anything, I learned a lot from the game and still had a lot of fun with it!  Nothing like a last turn level 1 Warlock Engineer putting 6 dice at Warp Lightning (5+ to cast) in the hopes of getting double 6s, and throwing 8 bolts out (from the condenser on him) and killing a lot of Chaos Warriors.

Of course, the detonation killed off 8 Clanrats, but hey, what can you do. :)

its a hard lesson to learn but now you'll see that combo coming. you'll very rarely have the dice to shut someone out completely (unless you're dwarfs, high elves, empire) so the trick is to learn what you need to stop and what you can afford to let through. obviously in this case you should have picked one and thrown everything at it. they're both remains in play spells so you can stop one when he casts and stop the other in your own magic phase.

Nah, we just did a battleline game, with 5 random terrain features.

We actually had a Blood Forest that went off when I threw a spell at the trolls!  It didn't cause any wounds, but it did move off, which was pretty interesting to see!  Nothing quite like a moving forest, haha.
