January tournament - How many points?

With TempleCon coming up would you guys like to see 35 points or 50 points?

I would suggest 50 point death clock for practice for Templecon.  But that is just me.

I'd say 50 since the Templecon tournaments are mostly 50.

Fity. Games can still move pretty fast based on scenario play even at 50 pts, and the Templecom practice would be useful.

Plus the new time turns for 50 point games is 10 minutes and not 12.  Everything got moved down a notch.  Which makes 35 point tournaments very unfriendly to new players.  I suggest death clock for two reasons.  First off that is the format I believe they are using at Temple con.  And second you can take a long turn if you need it.  As long as you are on point in your other turns.

The biggest changes are Reinforcements and Character Restriction.

My vote would be for 50 points for many of the reasons outlined above. After playing this past weekend with 12-minute turns at 50, I can honestly say that 10 is incredibly restrictive. Death Clock seems like a better format overall.

I'd love to go but unfortunately I'll be in New Orleans that weekend :( Perhaps next time!

This is going to be my first warmahordes tournament so sorry if this is a noob question. Can i run a unit at below what i pay for it? The situation is this. I have paid 6 points for 10 press gangers, but i only have 8, and it is extremely unlikely to be able to attain 2 more by the tourney.So, if i pay 6 points for10, can i only bring 8? I get it if i can't, but it seems like this will only disadvantage me.

I have never encountered a question like that.  I'm sure one of the guys can / will answer this.

In case it wasn't clear, this is going to be a 50 point event using the 2012 SR rules.
