I will be there as well.  I guess we will play it by ear as far as space is concerned.  (I know tom is having vehicle issues so his status is now uncertain)

Well, I originally didn't think this would affect me but I seem to have mis-calculated the dates.  My family reunion is on the weekend of 8/1 and I committed to going, so I won't be available for the next game date.

As some of you may know, my dad isn't doing very well.  He has been between various hospitals for the last 5 weeks straight.  That's the reason I had to cancel the game last Friday, and also the game before July 4.  Most of the time he's stable, but sometimes there are family medical conferences (which it was the last time) or a sudden emergency (which it was this time).

The long story short, I can't guarantee that I will be available on any given night, and as the GM that isn't fair to everyone else to have me cancel a game on short or no notice.  So I have to put my game on hiatus until my dad's situation changes.

I know that Josh was talking about a M&M game, and maybe we can pick up with that on the... 15th? is the game after this one.  Otherwise... well I'm sure we can figure something out.  As far as the 1st; I'm open to suggestions.

I think if we're gonna switch games, we should plan to do the first evening with some character generation stuff and world building discussion.  We can use some board games as filler too.

SPEAKING of which, we could try babi's first 5th ed game instead of M&M.  Depends how folks feel.  Might be nice to take a fantasy break for a while?

The Monster Manual doesn't come out for at least a month.  That would make things problematic to say the least.

And the DMG a month after that.

There are some stat blocks for common monsters published by Wizards and available on the web.  People are unhappy that the roles system from 4e has been abandoned and we seem to be back to monster splat blocks.  That's unfortunate.  The monster roles and encounter design was one of the best things about 4e.

It's related to the PC 'roles' system.  If they axed one and not the other, it would give people bad memories.

Still, balancing encounters properly was (technically is I guess) one of the biggest challenges in my campaign.
