Any chance the winner can get a cost equivalent non-tank?  I already have 3 LRs, but a second Dreadknight could hit the spot..................................

I'd really prefer the winner take a tank simply to keep with the theme.  Some people might be like, "Yeah, that dude's tank totally owned everyone.  He won a Dreadknight for TANKSgiving because of it.  Lame."

It's TANKSgiving, sort of like Thanksgiving, or like the act of giving away a tank. ;)

Really though, I don't care very much.  If it's going to make the winner of a purely fun event happy to get something else, that's fine.  It's all about having fun, sharing laughs, talking smack to Kamal and Pat Mulvey if at all possible, and blowing things up.

Oh, and quick question:  If you die, you come back your very next turn, right? No "lost" turn?

How many rounds are there going to be?  Or just playing until we run out of time?

I am expecting a fair number of players to show up.  Because of this, how players will take their turn may differ from what has been posted.  I am working on how I would like things to go right now (at 3:00am...).  I am toying with several options.  Players should never actually lose a chance to shoot.

We will be playing until a set time.  I anticipate starting a little late due to the anticipated turnout, getting people settled, taking care of the D&D thing going on at the same time, and all that.

I am going to do my very best to keep things moving quickly.  I expect the game to run 3 hours.  Probably looking at a 7:30 - 10:30 game.

Cool.

Do they have a range? AP? Where are they fired from?

It looks like I missed a large portion of this thread somehow.  Let's play it like it fires from the main gun of your tank (whether intact or not) and has AP - (no AP).

Do S10 AP- weapons exist?

Does the AP of a gun matter when shooting at tanks at values other than 1?

AP 1 gives you the +1
AP- gives you a -1

Nothing else matters as far as I know.

I'd keep it as S10 AP6 or some arbitrary AP that isn't 1. AP - means it'll be pretty horrible at killing anything due to the -1 on the damage table (meaning you'd need to roll a 6 on a pen to Wreck the tank). And I personally would like to see more things explode :)

For reference, Manticore Rockets are S10 AP4, d3 shots. Seems apropos - one of your techpriests/wierdboyz/farseers figured out how to strap one of the things to your tank :P

Take the Ignore Shaken/Stunned. I can tell you from experience that your turn becomes pretty boring when you've suffered a Stunned result.

ON the off chance that someone rolls double 1's (meaning they can't "trade down") do they get to pick another one?  Roll again?

Oh, and the d3 shots are in addition to the main gun, right?  Like (if I don't move) I can fire that main gun and the d3 shots as well?

We will have people that roll double 1's re-roll one of them.

The d3 shots are in addition to the main gun.  If you don't move you can fire them and the main gun.  Please remember that the d3 shots are "once per tank" meaning that you get a d3 shots to use only once until your tank dies and respawns.

I'm picturing this like Ork weaponry.  Someone strapped a rocket to the side of your Tank.  One.  That's it.  Fire it, and there's no longer a rocket strapped to it.  Be thankful that you get one. ;)
Reality is a cruel and unintuitive place with rather frustrating game-play mechanics.
