Necrons as Sucky as they are got some pretty neat stuff. Basically though I think the biggest thing they got is going to piss off Everyone is Imotekh. Night fighting for on average 3 turns that lets him possible do a STR 8 AP 5 to at a propable 1-3 units including vehicles is pretty big. I expect to see him in a lot of Tourney play :/

The problem with this I'm seeing is night fighting is going to hurt the necrons just as bad, they're clearly better at shotting and unless they have some special night vision rule in the codex they will be just as blind

Maybe it will help them close to 24 to bring all their guns to bare but still

Yeah, I think that that is the point, most necron weapons seem to be oriented for medium to close range, so they are going to want to close to short range against the enemy to open up, and night fighting should really help them do this.

I know everyone is ogling Imotekh, but I have a question about Trazyn the Infinite's Empathic Obliterator.  If Trazyn is in the Command Barge, does the effect work even in the Movement phase when he does the Sweep Attack?  I am guessing that it would but want to make sure.  If so it would be a great Hoard killer.

No it does not cause hes Not in Close Combat which is very specific that the Sweep Attack is a Special Attack made by moving by someone not engaging in close combat.

However the Sweep Attack states that "For each success, the unit suffers a hit at the character's Strength, plus any Strength bonuses and special abilities from his close combat weapon."  Wouldn't that include that special ability from Trazyn's weapon the Empathic Obliterator?

I don't think it is intended as you thinking Ron.  I think it means that it would ignore armor saves as in power weapons.  In trazyn's entry it says if he kills them in close combat which moving over them is not

Possibly, but this (and a bunch of other stuff) need to be in a FAQ.  After all that is the only ability of that weapon, and the Sweep Attack seems like a free cc attack during the movement phase, at east that seems like the spirit of it.  After all the rules for the sweep attack seem to mimic the cc rules to a large extent.

Triarch Stalker (Walker)
Tomb Blade (Jetbike)
Doom Scythe (Skimmer/Bomber)
Night Scythe (Transport)
Canoptek Wraiths (jump infantry) seems GW USED to make a similar Necron unit called Wraiths that is now OOP
Canoptek Spyder (Mon. Creature) Forgeworld makes something SIMILIAR, but still different and still expensive

Maybe i'm spoiled because my grey knights have almost everything in their codex represented by a model. I haven't been around 40k long enough to see past practices with other codexes.

Keep in mind that lately GW has been releasing models for the new armies in waves.

It remains to be seen if we will be getting wave two at the end of the month or not.  Usually they release the Battleforce and another model or few two - four weeks after the initial release.

I would suspect that Necrons follow the Dark Eldar pattern more closely than Tyranids.  GW has definitely changed things up considerably since then and now.

Grey Knights saw most of their product line very early because there were very few models involved.

The fact that tomb spyders, scarabs, and wraiths have been flat out removed from the GW site is more evidence that we're going to see them put out new kits.  Just a matter of time...

That makes sense about new scarabs and wraiths in the pipeline since they pulled the old ones from the site, there's rumors of a new large spider online so maybe that's the tomb spyder.

It would be great to see a battleforce out that quick, I figured that would be way down the line since grey knights haven't gotten one in the 6 months they've been out.

The only Reason I think they didn't put out a Grey Knights Battleforce is because all the Model Choices are interchangeable and they have so few things in the army. Grey Knights(33$) Become Justicars Terminatours(50$) become Paladins and both are Grey Knight Troop Choices. I think we won't see a Grey Knight Battleforce but will see the Necron one in a month or 2.

I agree with Pat.  I think you won't ever see a GK Battleforce.

You will definitely see a Necron Battleforce in a month or sooner though.

Wraiths are going to be a key unit, I hope they come out with them soon.

I'm liking the army a lot and am thinking of a canoptek styled list that could be nasty.

What does this mean?  What is a Canoptek?

Canoptek are a set of Units in the Necron Army. Canoptek Scarabs, Canoptek Wraiths, and Canoptek Spyders.

They are the units that did not go to sleep, instead they patrolled the tombs looking for intruders and killing them and are in charge of security.
