I agree with you on the stalkers Ben. They are great for that; I really need this unit to go away moment and they are AV 13 walkers so great as a counter charger to tie stuff up.

For a 2000 pt list I'll probably add a troop choice.

2 scoring units sounds dangerous, but I love all the arks you have in there!

Agreed that only 2 scoring units could hurt this list. If you're looking to get in cheap, you could reserve some Warriors and walk them on later.

ive been trying to put my lsit together as well, but why the Crypteks with the ghost arks? i don't see anywhere in the codex about them being able to use transports

or are you planning on having the arks pace the squads and use them for the repair function?

As Independent Characters, Crypteks are able to attach to the Warrior squads, and the Warriors take the Ghost Ark as a Dedicated Transport.

they're not Ben, the basic necron lord and Cryptek don't have the IC rule, they're under the  "royal court" section

Ok i just re-read the Royal Court section, basic necron lords and Crypteks are not ICs, but before the battle you can have a court member join with a unit of warriors, immortals, lychguard or deathmarks

so they're kind of like ICs as they can join units, but once the battle starts they're stuck with that unit for the duration

On page 53 under "Transport" it says Crypteks can go in the Ghost Ark.  As well as Warriors, Lords Overlords, and the Necron Special characters.

The idea was since it was open topped to fly around and shoot the Eldritch Lance out of it, and possible back it up with the gauss flayers if the target was close enough.

As for not enough troops, I'd like to try this first and maybe see if I can take out a Doomsday Ark and replace it with a plain Squad of 5 Warriors in another Ghost Ark, or maybe a squad of Immortals with a Lord or Cryptek

Okay, yeah, that's right. Space Wolves get to pull the same shenanigans, FYI.

Lots of internet rumors flying around right now about Necron wave 2, they all seem to point to a Januaryish release date.

said to include models for the Doom/night Scythe, walker, spyder, tomb blades, wraiths.

thats a lot of model goodness so ill cross my fingers for all of it and be happy if we see half of it

till then the word of the day is PROXIES! lol
