I feel bad when I surprise the community and the event fills up in 20 hours or less.

It also goes to show how dedicated of a community BG has, Chase.  It's a double edged sword, unfortunately, but that only means you need to host more events. ;)

There's definitely a fine line when it comes to events.

I've been criticized a bit lately for not running enough events.  I'm sure it looks / feels that way for most of the player base... but we did have the two Ard Boys events that many locals didn't attend.

I'm sure some people find the 500 point tournament a bit unlike some of the other, more standard tournaments.  If you consider that our last 4 events have been Ard Boys, Trios, Ard Boys, 500 points, then yeah... I guess it's been a while since we've had something "standard".

I've made some changes to how the prizes will be distributed in this upcoming Doubles tournament that I think the majority of players will prefer.

If all goes according to plan, this winter will see 1 "major" 40k tournament a month in Plainville.

Right now the plan is:

Nov 5th - 500 points
Dec 3rd - Doubles
Jan - Singles
Feb - Something a little different / Trios / Singles?
March - Doubles?

I've also been thinking about putting on a little something one of these Thursday nights. Maybe a three-round 500 tournament... One 500 tournament at a time, though.  :D
