What Happens At The Innistrad League?

When you join the Innistrad League, you will be given the opportunity to play with the newest cards in an on-going, six-week league. There will be prizes, and players will use special rules for the league that change weekly with the phases of Innistrad's moon.

The format for the Innistrad League is Sealed Deck — Each player receives six Innistrad booster packs to use for building a deck.

A list of the special rules are as follows:  

Week 1: Quiet Moon - The moon has no effect this week
Week 2: New Moon - All creatures get +1/+0
Week 3: Crescent Moon - Each Player draws an opening hand of 8 cards and each player's maximum hand size is increased by one
Week 4: Half Moon - Each Player begins the game at 25 life
Week 5: Death Moon - Each player may play an additional land on each of his or her turns
Week 6: Full Moon - All creatures have haste.


Each week, players will be able to add more boosters to your league deck.  Players with a losing record at the start of a new week (Tuesdays) will have the option to add two boosters to their league deck.

Each participant is allowed to play five league matches per week, for a total of 30 over the course of the league (you can play more, but they can't count towards your results). Players joining the Innistrad League late can play extra matches to catch up to the current match cap of five times the current total of weeks of the league.

At the end of the league, there will be booster pack prizes and posters for the top finishers.

$25.00 is the entrance fee for the league and includes 6 booster packs.  Once a week, if you choose, you may purchase an additional pack (or two if you're losing) to add to your deck.

You may play league games at any time during the week, but must stop recording results after the first 5.

Awww damn, I work tuesday nights =(. Maybe we can get a "Tribal Wars" type event going for Sunday nights?? Players have to make a deck just using one of the tribes from Innastrad, and the ONLY creatures allowed in their decks is of the tribe-type.
-Humans, Werewolves, Vampires, Zombies, Spirits, Demons, Angels

Not sure if it would be better including older cards or just using cards from standard for deck building purposes...

You don't have to play on Tuesday you get to play games all during the week its just that Tuesday is the start of the new week when you can play a New set of 5 matches.

I still think with the month of October, running a tribal event would be really fun. Another benefit is not only at the end of it will we have a Tribe winner but each tribe will also have the "leader" i.e. the person who runs the best (zombies, werewolves) so more chances to come out on top! If there are say more player favoring like two particular tribes then we could switch to an emperor type deal, that would REALLY give the feel of player being "in a tribe"!
