I finally had the time to play the demo today. I'd give it 4/5. I had a hard time finding the game's rhythm, and it's all about rhythm. I found it hard to hit the targets I wanted to hit, and there were times I went for the health-regen kills on stunned enemies, only for the button not to register because the enemy was near a wall or something. That said, you're on being a Space Marine violently killing Orks and the demo delivers that. I would have loved to see their take on Chaos. Disposable income is all heading toward my Space Marine army, so new video games will have to wait... That includes you too, Deus Ex and Dead Island. :(

I played on the 360. I had the targeting assist on. I'm going to try it again later, and I'll turn the targeting assist off. But in close-combat, I'd swing and strike at a different target than I wanted, and I'm not sure if/how that gets fixed.

I know the game looks much better on a sweet PC than it does on the 360.

Turning off the targeting assist helped me a bunch, and my second run-through this afternoon was much cleaner than my previous one. I played around with the different weapons, utilized the Stalker and the Vengeance rounds, both can make certain areas almost too easy. But if you want health back, you still have to plunge into close combat, so that's a decent balance.

Still, not happy with the camera, as I keep rolling into terrain and don't even know it's there until I'm stuck and getting Nobbed in the face. (It's as apt a phrase as any to describe the situation.) And there was still the issue of a few non-responsive "health-kills", which are pretty important.

If this game ends up like others and is $30 because of some crazy sale in six weeks, budget be damned. I will enlist for the Emprah.

For those interested, you can demo the game in Plainville for free.

You can plug a 360 controller right into your PC. You know, so you can play games the way you were meant to. :P

(Secretly jealous of awesome gaming rigs, mods and "wizard did it" technology.)

I had a lot of fun playing this on the 360, but will be getting it for my PC. It definitely feels like a platformer, so I'll be getting an extra controller for it. Best of both worlds!
