Battleground Launch Party Weekends are a great way to celebrate the release of the newest set of Magic: The Gathering. This summer, it's the 2012 Core Set!

Here is the three-day lineup for our Abington location:

DAY ONE

Format: Sealed Deck*
Date: July 15th, 2011 a Friday
Time: Friday at 7:00pm
Entrance Fee: $25.00 per person

Sealed Deck: Each player receives SIX packs of Core Set 2012 to use for building a deck.  Battleground will supply basic lands.


What Do I Get?

Prizes are based on attendance and can be taken in booster packs or as store credit. Prizes are typically awarded to the top 30% of finishers.


Each player also receives (while supplies last):

6 packs of Core Set 2012
1 promo card (depicted below)



In addition to the main Launch Party Tournament event, we offer the following public events:

Booster Draft: Players participating in a booster draft event will each receive 3 Core Set 2012 booster packs to draft with.

Booster drafts will take place all day, before AND after the main event.


DAY TWO

Format: Standard Constructed Box Tournament*
Date: July 16th, 2011 a Saturday
Time: Saturday at 7:00pm
Entrance Fee: $10.00 per person

Standard Constructed Box Tournament: Each player brings a constructed deck that adheres to the current standard format. Cards are only legal if they belong to the following sets: Core Set 2011, Zendikar, Worldwake, Rise of Eldrazi, Scars of Mirrodin, Mirrodin Besieged, New Phyrexia and Core Set 2012. Also keep in mind that Jace, the Mind Sculptor and Stoneforge Mystic are banned in Standard format (with the notable exception of the complete New Phyrexia Event Deck that contains 2 Stoneforge Mystics).

What Do I Get?

A full booster box of the player's choice will be added to the prize pool (guaranteed at 12 players). Additional store credit prizes will also be added based on the total number of entrants.

Each player also receives one of any remaining foil Garruk's Horde cards left over from the Frinday night main Launch Party Sealed event (while supplies last).


DAY THREE

Format: Two-Headed Giant Sealed*
Date: July 17th, 2011 a Sunday
Time: Sunday at 2:00 pm
Entrance Fee: $20.00 per person / $40.00 per team

Two-Headed Giant Sealed Format: In this format two players work together as a team to defeat an opposing team of two players. For a complete FAQ of the rules governing a Two-Headed Giant tournament please click the following link.

What Do I Get?

Store credit prizes will be awarded to the highest ranking teams at the end of the tournament. The prize amount and number of placing teams depends upon the total number of participants in the event.
