Weekend in the Realms at BG
« on: October 19, 2008, 09:58:17 PM »
I'm starting this thread as a Pre-Muster for the Weekend in the Realms event that is happening at BG this coming weekend, Oct. 25th.

So what’s so special about this event?  First off, there’s an exclusive mega-adventure playable only that weekend written for LFR play.  It’s called “Beneath Haunted Halls,” it’s for characters levels 1–4, and it’s written by Wizards’ own Matt Sernett. Set in and around the famous Haunted Halls of Eveningstar, the adventure is broken into three parts; each part takes approximately 3 hours to play. You can play one, two, or all three parts if you’d like, and earn rewards for your LFR character for each part. Either bring your existing character or create a new one onsite, or choose from a selection of pregenerated PC's.; you’ll be able to play all day with just this one adventure.

If you'd like to play, and have a group of players ready for one table (minimum 4, maximum 6), please post them here on this thread, or send either Derek, Chase, or myself a PM.  If you do not have a group made up already, please post your PC class and level here on this thread, and either Derek, Chase, or I will muster you into a group of players.  Tables will be made as balanced as possible.

New players are welcome! Come on down and enjoy the game; Cost is TBD.  Hope to see you all there!

I'm interested (this is Pete)!  As is my friend John.  I think we will both be using pre-generated characters (his only preference is for a dwarf, I really don't care).

What time would you like people to start showing up?

Hi Pete,

We're still working on the exact details of time and cost, but I would imagine close to when the shop opens on Saturday.  The event will likely run the course of the day, so the sooner we start, the better.  I'm going to be at the shop later tonight to work on things with Derek.  If you have any questions for us, and are available to come by tonight, please feel free to.

Also, as not many of the regular gamers at BG check the msg board on a regular basis, any help you can give us with spreading the word about this weekend, and encouraging them to leave a msg on this thread, or with Derek or Chase at the shop, would be great.

Thanks a lot, and I'll see you soon.

I'd be interested in playing.

Do I need to create an RPGA account beforehand? I went to the website but had no luck, said I would need an RPGA number, which you get while at an event, i guess  ???

Also, what time does the store open on saturdays? I tend to sleep in when possible :P

Starting an RPGA account is free and easy, and you can do it that day at the shop.  I'm sure Derek will have some forms lying around.

As for the starting time, I'm not exactly sure when we'd start, but I'd be ready to play close to when the shop opens.  The event runs long, but you don't have to be present for all 3 parts in order to play.  It might not be as much fun if you miss the first and/or the second part, but you'll definitely be able to play at least some portion of it.  I'll have more exact details by tomorrow, hopefully.

Hope to see you there!

10 AM is pretty early for me on at Saturday, but it sounds like it'll be worth the trouble.  Sign me up.  I'll pick up one of the pregenerated characters too.

Oh, and could you do me a huge favor, Ben?  I need somebody to call me around 9:00 Sat morninh to make sure I didn't forget about this.  (or more likely, to wake me up.)

No problem, Rick.  Please PM me your number though, since it appears I've misplaced it.  Consider yourself added to the muster.

To Drhankmd: If you're interested in playing any part of it, I'll need your name in order to add you to the muster.  And if there's a PC you already have, please let me know.  Otherwise you can always choose from a pregenerated one.

ah, its Todd  ;D

I'll just use a pregenerated character, and I'd be up for all three parts, if at all possible.

Duly noted.  So far, we have one full table for Saturday.  I'm sure a lot more will be there, but right now you four are the official first table.

Start Time & Cost
« Reply #10 on: October 24, 2008, 09:41:57 AM »
After talking to Chase last night, we've confirmed that the starting time for the Weekend in the Realms will be 10:00 am, when the store opens.

Cost will be $5 per slot, or $12 for the entire day (SAVE $3!!).  Also, as an added bonus for all the early birds, the first 12 players to arrive by 10 am will get a free Donut and Coffee, courtesy of me.

See you guys then!
