Mods

I'm sure you're thinking of this but you may want to setup some reliable people as mods.  You can make them Global Mods (they moderate the entire forum but are not Admins, which only D and Chase should be).  Or, you can make them regular Moderators who mod only a certain section.

For example, let's pretend you choose to make Paul G a mod.  You make him a mod for the Warhammer 40k section.  That allows him to sticky threads and otherwise moderate content only in that section.

Just a thought.

Mods seem like a silly idea for a board with such a low post count.

Doesn't hurt to be prepared for down the road.

The old boards had 276 unique users and an average of 12 posts per day. I don't think Chase and Derek had trouble there.

Then again, Jon, you may be on to something. While they look for potential mods, they should also look into upgrading their servers for the traffic spikes that may occur further down the line. Doesn't hurt to be prepared for down the road.  :P

You're right.  Worst idea I've ever had.

That's equally valid.  One of these days I'll get the urge to get back in.  I still love Menoth.  I devour their articles in No Quarter.  Looks like such a fun game.  /sigh  Too many games and too little time.
