I found myself breaking down the Tyranid codex with some 40k lads. Some of the gaming tables were used, and the store was brimming as always. Like, seriously, Thursdays are hoppin'!

Next Thursday (March 6th), Erich will be in to host a painting workshop. Erich is good people, and he will judge the painting at some BG 40k events, so the man knows his stuff. It should be good, especially for the newer players we've been picking up lately. :)

Thanks Ben,
The workshop focus next week will be the airbrush.

If I don't have an airbrush but want to learn about using one to paint in advance of potentially buying one could I show up? Would it be a lesson at the complete noob level or something more advanced?

Going to start at the noob level as I know a lot of folks don't have an airbrush. Will be talking about prepping the model for airbrushing, mixing paint to the right viscosity, air pressure, cleaning the airbrush after use and so on. People will be free to try mine airbrush out a but to lat down some base colors so they can get the feel of one if they've not used the tool before. Then, if there is time I can show some quick technics for blending a base coat up through varied shades.

The airbrush is going to be popular so expect to see more than one workshop based around it.

Good to hear that.  I would always love to get some tips for my airbrush, but house and school commitments are keeping me away from BG on Thursdays until April.

Honestly, just Thursdays in general now. 40k had its usual showing, which is lively enough, but much more than 40k going down on a regular basis these days. Almost 10 people turned out for Star Wars X-Wing minis. Some people practicing Modern Magic, and a Pathfinder game. And the paint demonstration. Some Warmachine. Some board game I've never seen before. Goodness, is that everything?

If only we could have had a cooking demonstration and a stand up comic.
