I'm back! I am borrowing an army for the Minvitational and I demand a 1250 practice game, this Thursday.

Fix your suppression systems, because I'm bringing a cyclone of hellfire.

I had every intention of showing up to Thursday 40k again this Thursday, until my mother invited me to dinner....  First time for everything.  Here's hoping she's alright.  :P

Anyways, if you guys can bug the casual dudes (kids) to see if they're ACTUALLY going to play in the Minvitational that would be awesome.  Many of them have expressed interest but have not sent me any email.

I'll bug the casual guys.

And I'll also refrain from making a mother joke here. I'd like to think I'm above that, in public.

Joke about my mom (and Cale's mom) are encouraged.  But only on the forum.  And please keep them PG-13.

Jason, no problem at all. Sounds quite awful.  :(

I'm quite sure there's a line of people that will step forward to put me in my place.

Gus is going to be around tomorrow night and looking for some help with his 1250 list.  He's got lots of questions from what I can tell.

I'd love it if someone could play a "tournament practice" game with him and show him what might be expected on Saturday.

Things like this make me think it's probably a good idea if I learn how to play the game... :/

(don't get any ideas, folks)

Well, it is a good idea. There's the starter kit dropping, that'll be a fine opportunity for a demonstration.

Thanks Ben for playing a game with me. I learned a lot from it and I have a good idea of how to approach that mission type in the tournament. NVM your army I wouldn't be surprised if I see you sitting at Table 1 with me in the last Round.

Thank you, too. Definitely, it was a solid learning game. Mostly learning that everything I've ever read from the 6th Edition rulebook is either wrong in theory or wrong in practice. Still working out those 5th Edition tendencies (and expectations), I guess.

Thursday 40k went 7 tables strong, because that's all the tables we had (until Derek showed up later with a vehicle full of Megabattle leftovers). Some tables ran a couple games over the course of the night, so it's all good. A bunch of new players too, friends bringing friends and the like. That's what I like to see!

The specter of Imperial Guard is looming over Plainville. More players are wising up (and paying out) for more dakka dakka.

This is something I love to read.  Nothing, NOTHING is more important than new players coming in to check out 40k.
